Kei opened his eyes as the warm ray of the sun grazed his skin peeking from the windows. He groaned as he got up and his eyes spotted the now empty room.

Entering the bathroom first, he fixed himself in the mirror and headed downstairs once done.

His eyes were glued on Y/n who was preparing their breakfast. A small grunt escaped from the girl's lips as her finger touched the hot pan.

"Oi, you okay?" Kei asked, not showing any emotion in his voice.

"Uhh... breakfast?"

"That's- breakfast?" he eyed the food on the table which was a bunch of eggs and sausages, burnt.

"Sorry, it was not easy cooking with one hand."

"Do you need any help with that?"

"No, I'm already done. In fact, I also made strawberry shortcake to make up for the eggs and sausages."

The two of them sat down across each other with loads of food in front of them.

"What time did you wake up?" he asked her.

"6:00 am."

"You were cooking for 3 hours?"

"Well, you could say that."

"No wonder these are burnt." Kei took an egg and put in his mouth.

"It tastes- burnt." he commented.

"We could order breakfast from somewhere if you can't eat it. Restaurants are probably open at this hour."

"I'm not saying I'm not eating it."

*cough* *cough* A cough escaped Kei's mouth while eating.

"Here, drink some water. I told you, we can really just order food." she said, handing him a glass of water.

Kei ignored her as he just drank and continued eating.

"Kei, don't forget the strawberry shortcake. You know, I'm really sorry for the breakfast. I could've done better."

The blonde took the dessert from her hands while standing on her porch, about to head home.

"Yeah, you could. So go ahead and heal that arm of yours. You'll do better with two functioning arms."

"I will. See you."

"See you."

School Day

"Good Morning." she greeted.

"Good Morning. Isn't today Kiiro's first time guarding the house?"

"Yeah, I figured he's now big enough to be left alone. Though I'm planning to get another one soon."

"Yeah, he could use some company. By the way, is your arm feeling any better?"
