Princes and princesses

Koji

I paced in my room without reason. It was a soft teal bluish color. The bed and curtains are made and drawn. I had seen the news of the two princes who had gone missing. My parents had too.

They had locked me in my room to 'protect' me when in reality it's probably because they didn't want to deal with me. I was wearing just some casual jeans and a blue shirt.

A pendant hung from around my neck, one that I'd had since I was a baby. Why? I had no clue. I was still in my sneakers when I felt sick and dizzy. I reached my hand out and steadied myself on a wall. I opened my eyes and shook my head.

That was weird. I decided to try the door again and to my surprise it unlocked itself. I grabbed my crown and placed it on as I walked outside my room. The golden crown was studded with blue crystals and slid down a little.

I was greeted with a white hallway instead of my normal one. I paused and walked forward. The door across from mine said Ellum with his kingdom name under it. Was Ellum here?

Ellum was my only close friend despite living on the opposite sides of the continent. Our parents were allies so we talked quite often. I reached for his door handle before deciding against it.

I turned and walked towards the door that seemed to lead outside. A hologram made me pause as it started speaking.

"Welcome to planet Polus Koji. Feel free to explore the facility," it said and vanished. I frowned and walked outside. I ran face first into a boy wearing a crown and pink clothes.

"You alright?" He asked and helped me up. I stood taller than him but he looked younger than me. Only by a month or so if at all. I nodded and held out my hand to shake his.

"Thanks by the way.....uh," I said and paused realizing I didn't have a name on him. He laughed softly and shook my hand.

"5up from Postport," he responded. "You must be Ellum right?" He said. I was taken aback as me and Ellum sounded nothing alike.

"No. I'm Koji from Capwich actually," I said and laughed slightly. He looked slightly embarrassed and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Sorry. I always get those kingdoms confused," he murmured. I heard footsteps and turned to see a girl wearing yellow. She moved to 5ups side and smiled at me.

"I'm Hafu. 5up, Steven thinks he found the electrical box," she said to me but almost as quickly turned to 5up. She glanced at me and gestures for him to follow. 5up goes after her and I stuck with them as I didn't want to be alone.

"I'm Koji," I say and she nodded with a smile. Up ahead I see a shorter male wearing purple and a male wearing red with a crown. The red male was holding another thing in his hand, presumably it was a crown. They seemed to be kneeling down next to something as the other two moved closer.

"Who's that?" The red male said with a glance at me, but he seemed more focused on the box. The male wearing purple was playing with some of the wires in it and I saw some light posts flicker.

"So those aren't correct," he muttered more to himself than anyone else.

"The one in red is Steven and the other one is Dakotaz," Hafu said as she saw my confused expression. I nodded slowly and observed what they were doing. "Dakotaz is good with technology and wires and stuff," she explained a little and he kept messing with it.

"Guys this is Koji," 5up said and got the other two's attention. Dakotaz barely looked up but waved slightly at me as Steven met my eyes.

"Oh, he's from Capwich right?" He asked and I nodded in response.

"What are you trying to do?" I finally asked with confusion. Dakotaz paused and finally looked at me. He wiped his forehead and waved his hand at the fence.

"It's electric. I'm hoping to short it out without whoever put us here knowing," Dakotaz explained and glanced back down at the panel on the floor. "It might take a while though," he admitted

"What else is around here?" I asked as Dakotaz went back to work.

"A cafeteria and a yard. That's all we can find," Steven responded. Hafu and 5up were talking in quiet voices about something off to the side.

"I wonder if we can take a closer look at some of the things here. Find clues maybe?" I asked him. Steven shrugged his shoulder and shot a glance at Dakotaz.

"Talk to 5up, he makes the plans right now," Steven said. I walked closer to the other two, who I assumed were siblings, and got 5ups attention.

"We should probably take a closer look at some of the buildings. I can look closer at that hallway building," I offered, hoping Ellum might join soon. 5up nodded to me and I walked back the same way we came.

I made it back to the white hallway and paused before going in. Why were we here and what did they want from us?
