As Alice entered the room the next day, she felt exhausted. Since she had slept most of the day yesterday, she hadn't been able to sleep very much at all that night. To her surprise, Springtrap was waiting by the door for her, holding something behind his back. Once the door slammed shut behind her, he started speaking, looking somewhat nervous, "So. I did this. Because I hate you." He presented to her some pages that had been torn out of her sketchbook. Alice took them in confusion. He had colored in some flowers she had drawn, "Um, these look good?" She looked around as Springtrap stared at her, "Uh, where is the rest of my sketchbook?" She asked.
Springtrap shrugged, "I don't know. Seems to have disappeared somehow."
Alice sighed, why did he have to be so difficult to deal with? "How could it just disappear? Did you hide it or something?" She said, looking around the room.
"No, I didn't hide it." Springtrap growled, "It's your sketchbook anyways. Why should I have to keep track of it for you?" He grumbled.
Alice glared at him, "You were the last one to have it! You obviously hid it somewhere, and I'm going to find it." She went around him and began making her way to the desk that had the drawers. Suddenly, Springtrap grabbed her arm, preventing her from moving, "You're not going to find anything. I won't let you." He snarled menacingly, tightening his grip almost to the point of pain. Fear flickered through Alice, but was unexpectedly replaced by sleep deprived rage.
She whipped around and glared at him, "You stole my fucking sketchbook, and I'm not putting up with your bullshit today!" Alice shouted angrily as she yanked her arm out of his grasp. Springtrap looked shocked by her sudden outburst, "I-I, uh, what?" He stuttered in confusion.
Alice glared at him, "Give me my sketchbook. I'm too tired to deal with this right now and I just want my fucking sketchbook, you horrible rat."
Springtrap took a step back from her, his face still clouded with confusion. He seemed unable to process the fact that Alice could actually get angry at him, "What?" He repeated softly, looking like his whole universe had just flipped upside down, "I... I, uh... what??"
Alice sighed in annoyance, "What? Are you too much of an idiot to understand what I just said?" She growled, repeating one of his favorite insults.
Springtrap still looked shocked. "What? No, I understood, I just, uh... Are you... Mad at me?" He said in disbelief.
Alice crossed her arms angrily, "Of course I am. You stole my sketchbook." Her anger was fading.
"I... Uh, I guess I'll go get it?" He said, still sounding shocked. He walked over to the bookshelf and took the sketchbook down from the very top shelf, "I didn't know you even could get mad. I was just trying to annoy you a little." Springtrap said as he handed the sketchbook to her.
She took it and glared at him, "Of course I can get mad. And grabbing my arm like that? That isn't how you annoy someone, that's how you hurt them." Alice said. Springtrap winced at the word 'hurt', "I just got a little carried away." He mumbled, almost looking apologetic.
Alice sighed, "It's fine, just, could you not do that?"
Springtrap suddenly looked somewhat panicked, "I-I won't! I promise." He said quickly.
Alice sighed again, then walked over to the chair she usually sat in, and opened up her sketchbook to see if he had done anything other than tear out some pages and color them.
Springtrap followed her and stood beside the chair, looking over her shoulder as she flipped through the crumpled pages. As she turned on to a page that seemed to only have scribbles on it, Springtrap suddenly snatched the sketchbook out of her hands, "You don't need to look at that page. I meant to take it out." He said, ripping out the drawing.
"Dude, what the heck!?" Alice exclaimed as Springtrap handed the sketchbook back to her.
"I didn't want you to see the page. Anyways, aren't you able to come here during your free time?" He said, changing the subject.
"Uh, yeah?" Alice stared at him. Why would he need to ask that?
"Well, why don't you?" He replied.
"Because you don't seem to ever want me in here." She said in confusion.
"But you could come anyways. They can never come back, but you always can." Springtrap said, sounding somewhat desperate, "You make all the pain quieter! Of course you can come back!" He exclaimed, dropping the paper he was holding.
Alice realized that Springtrap was acting strange and getting twitchy again. The last time he was like this, it was terrifying. She had to try and do something. Alice put down her sketchbook and stood up. She took his hands in hers, "Hey, how about I come back later then?" She said comfortingly, "I'll come back, ok? You're ok."
Springtrap stared at her for a moment, and then suddenly snapped back to his usual self, "Eugh, don't touch me." He said in annoyance, yanking his hands out of hers. Alice sighed, hoping this meant he would be fine.
The rest of the hour passed uneventfully as Springtrap acted annoyed with everything as usual. On her way out, Alice asked, "Would you like me to come back during my free time?"
Springtrap glared at her, "Hell no. Once you're gone, I want you to stay gone." He growled.
Alice sighed, she figured this was a good thing, since she didn't actually want to come back. She had her sketchbook now so she would be fine. But, instead of drawing during freetime, she spent the whole time napping until dinner.
Alice laid awake for hours that night, just trying to fall asleep. She knew she shouldn't have taken that nap, but she had been so tired. So, she got another sleepless night, just to further mess up her sleep schedule. It was already close to 2 am.
Suddenly, a distant scream broke through the silence of the night. Alice sat up in surprise, it had sounded like it came from somewhere in the facility. Or had she imagined it? Alice was about to lay back down, when suddenly she heard a second scream, this time a little further away. Alice got to her feet, and grabbed her phone to use as a flashlight, then paused. What the heck was she thinking, going out there in the middle of the night!? It was against the facility's rules to wander around out of area, and that scream was definitely out of area.
The scream sounded a third time. What if someone needed help? It sounded like a scream of fear and pain. After a fourth scream, Alice decided that she would go and investigate. She couldn't stand hearing people in pain.
