~< day 39/167 - fran varsilić >~
"How was your first day?" The man yelled from the kitchen. Jisung huffed, staying silent as he shoved his shoes off, the dry mud shaking off onto the floor.Jisung strolled into the kitchen, ignoring the man's presence. "So?" He prompted.
"I don't want to talk about it." Was all Jisung said before heading towards the stairs. He never made it though. Instead he was stopped half way by a girl half the size of him.
"Sunnngg! Come look, come look, hurry up!" Jisung tried to stop but the little girl was already dragging him by the wrist. They reached the living room. The girl stood in front of the couch and spread her arms up into the air, showing off the coffee table. On the coffee table was a painting. It was a messy squiggle of colour depicting a boy and a little girl holding hands while another girl stood beside them.
"Wow Nijoo, that's really cool. Who's it supposed to be?" Jisung knelt down in front of the coffee table and looked upwards at the little girl. The girl swatted her hair away from her face and knelt down beside him.
"It's us dummy. That's me holding your hand and that's Soo!" Jisung had easily figured out who it was but it gave the picture a meaning he didn't like. Jisung stared at the picture, they looked like a family. A picture of lies.
"Yeah, it's cool Nijoo, you should show Soo later," He smiled, getting up and leaving to his room, he could just see Nijoo slouch over a bit, leaving a little guilt in his chest.
He slammed into the mattress, his bag thrown against the wall to flop onto the floor. He thought to go to the cemetery but he knew if he did, he'd regret it. To numb his mind he pulled out his phone and placed his headphones in, drifting away from himself.
Jisung squished his eyes together, feeling a nudge at his shoulder to wake him. He turned onto his side to avoid it but the nudges continued.
"Jisung, wake up," She whispered at him. Jisung turned, faced by a girl with wide brown eyes.
"Soo, it's early, go back to sleep," Jisung insisted, rolling back onto his side.
"You promised you'd help me study for my chemistry exam," She whined, gently hitting him with her books. Jisung turned back around, this time fully as he sat up on the bed. He took the books with a sigh.
"What makes you think I remember tenth grade science?" He complained, flicking through the pages of her text book. Jisung complained but he had helped Soowon for an hour that morning as he promised, only stopping due to the fact he had to get ready for school.
Jisung dragged himself into school, heading straight to his English class for the morning. Classes hadn't started yet but what was he going to do? Hang out with his friends? He reached his English class according to the timetable he held but the door was locked and not a teacher was in sight, so he chose to sit on the ground in front of the door and read through his history notes from yesterday. He was fine with the silence.
"Hey, Jisung!" Minho greeted. Jisung tucked his lips in to hold in his annoyance and shut his book.
"Hi, Minho," Jisung said with a bitter tone. Minho slid down and took a seat beside Jisung.
"You made any friends?" Minho asked him. Jisung side-eyed him, reopening his history book. "Okay, well you can always sit with us," Minho offered.
"Us?" Jisung didn't look up from his book as he asked.
"Oh, me and my friends. There's only a couple of us." Jisung gave Minho another side eye. "Okay well there's a lot of us but you don't have to talk to all of them, you can just talk to me if you want." Minho watched for Jisung's answer, just a little hope in his eyes.
