Welcome back to another chapter! Thank you for all of the support on this story so far. I have nothing else to say, so you know what to do :) - Amy

I never imagined that standing in the middle of my childhood bedroom would bring me so much joy. "Thank God we're back," I sighed in relief and looked around my room. My bright walls were decorated with pictures of family and friends and it felt nice to be standing on my fluffy white carpet instead of foreign soil... even though it was now dirty from our shoes. I frowned when I noticed that my lamp was sitting on my nightstand, unbroken.
"Marcus, isn't that the lamp you threw at Marsyas?" I pointed, making my twin brother take a look.
Marcus' expression turned to confusion. "It is... it was definitely still in the washroom when that freak took us hostage."
"I can explain," Hermes cut in. "As soon as my brother and Danika alerted the Olympians about you two, we sent a few gods over here to clean things up and keep watch on your family."
My eyes widened. "Shit, our parents are going to freak out," I started to panic. I started heading for my door when Hermes grabbed my arm to stop me.
"Don't worry, Julie," Hermes spoke calmly. "We used the mist to make your parents think nothing happened. As far as they know, they got home from dinner late and went straight for bed, thinking you were both asleep. They have no idea you went missing so there's no point in worrying them."
"But the security alarm and broken glass everywhere," Marcus interjected, but Hermes raised his hand to stop him.
"Like I said, everything has cleaned up like nothing happened. The police think the alarm was just a software issue," Hermes explained. "It's like it never happened."
I couldn't wrap my head around it. "I feel like I have a migraine," I said and sat on my bed, rubbing my temples. "This is all a bit too much for one day."
Hermes sat next to me and put a comforting arm around me, lightly squeezing my arm. "It is a lot to take in, but if you want any chance at my father allowing you to keep your memories of this, you both have to promise that you won't tell anyone about this," he explained and looked over at Marcus. "That includes your girlfriend."
Marcus quickly nodded. "I can do that. It's not like we're going to be involved with anything aside from Danika."
"Unless we get kidnapped again," I snorted.
"I won't let that happen," Hermes promised before getting up to stand in front of me, making me look up. "I will personally be here most of the time making sure you're both kept safe. When I need to be in Olympus you will have other gods watching over you until Hera is caught."
I nodded and took a moment to really look at him. He looked the exact same as he did the first time I met his younger form, only he looked a few years older due to the light stubble on his face. The only true difference was his attire, which I wasn't complaining about. The man knew how to make Grecian robes look sexy. Stop thinking about him like that, I scolded myself and shook my head in attempts to rid myself of those thoughts.
Marcus cleared his throat, pulling me back from my thoughts. "Thank you, Hermes, for everything. I won't tell Molly or anyone else about all of this," he promised. "I do feel really gross so I'm going to head back to my room to shower and be alone for a bit. It's been a long day... or two days? I don't even know."
I waved at Marcus as he left the room, surprised when he shut the door behind him. I suppose it was smart since our parents were likely home.
