the lonely princess - a fairy tale

There was once a little girl who was born as an only child to a bold and ignorant king and a kind hearted queen.
She lived in a little castle near a beautiful river that merged into a mystrious dark sea.

The little princess loved to play along the river.
She ran as fast as she could, racing the flowing water until she reached the dark sea.

The kindhearted queen was very worried over every step the little princes took, since she was her only child and she loved her with all heart.

The bold and ignorant king couldn't care less since he was not interested in anything or anyone as himself.

One day the little princess played along the river, although the kindhearted queen told her she should not.

But the little princess could not help herself, it was like the dark sea called out for her.

She ran along the river and followed the raging stream that was wilder than ever before.
Fish raced each other to be the first one arriving in the dark sea.

When the little princess stood on the edge of the dark sea she felt calm and steady.

The dark sea was quiet and beautiful.

The little princess closed her eyes and dreamed.

As she closed her eyes she could hear the calling of the dark sea again.

"Jump!!!", it said.

The little princess answered: "But I can't swim!"

"Don't worry little princess. I will take care of you. You won't sink!"

The little princess hesitated.

"Come little princess. I won't hurt you. Just jump!"

The little princess took all of her courage and jumped.

The water felt like a cold heavy coat over her body. Her limps felt nump.the weight of the water made it unable for her to open her eyes or breath.
She couldn't scream or cry.

The dark sea consumed me, the little princess thought.
What a dump little girl I am.
I will drown!
All alone in the dark sea, where no one will find me!

With every second the weight got heavier and the little princess felt the empty loneliness of the never ending deep of the dark sea crawling inside of every cell of her body.

She thought again, my mother will mourn and her kindhearted heart will break! Oh what have I done!!!

And just when the little princess thought her heart beat it's last beat- the dark sea carried her numb and cold body up on a wave back to the shore!

The little princess couldn't move and was still under shock.

Then she called out, her voice was trempling in agony and fear: "Why did you lie to me? I almost drowned! Why did you do this to me?"

The dark sea didn't answer.

The little princess cried and yelled at the dark sea again and again, but nothing happened.

It was as quiet and calm as before.

Soon guards that the kindhearted queen sent after her came looking for the little princess.

They asked the little princess what had happened.
But she diddn't answer.

Back in the castle the kindhearted queen reached out to the little princess, but she turned away.

The bold and ignorant king didn't notice anything as he only cared about himself.

Since that day the little princess wasn't the same happy little girl anymore.

Since that day she had jumped into the dark sea, she felt lonely.

There were people around her who cared and loved her.
But the loneliness came from within her.
No one and nothing seemed to make her happy anymore.

Nothing could bring her joy, not even running down the river.

The spark in the little princess eyes was dull.

And as time went on she was called the lonely princess.

Fairy tales were my favorite kind of books as a little girl. I loved mythical and drama, that's why I tried modern but dark fairy tale without a happy end.
