door slam, deep breath
you wake up. hit snooze. and dying, again.
so turn the radio up and hide your aching chest
because the back of the bathroom door is always the safest place
dress you up like a doll
and draw your heart purple
they said that they're holding the knees straight
but your feet don't even touch the ground
the wall was painted with broken frames
and the chains keep dragging you down every time you try to look out of the window
is it not for you to see?
how the rain is supposed to feel on your
skin that was tattooed with every word you've ever been called
how funny
when the room is filled with silence
but everybody can hear people screaming
and you begin to wonder,
is silence supposed to be this loud?
there comes a time
when your name sounds so foreign in its mother's tongue
when you choose to give up on your wings
without realizing that it's the other way around
