"And that's where you come in"my father's deep voice coming from outside the cell

"Do you always lurk around like that dad?" I say, standing up, and splitting open another poorly bound cut.

"No. I'm here to fix you up" he says as though I somehow am a major inconvenience.

"huh, I never knew you as someone who cleans up their messes" I tell him with a smile

"Okay, you can stay like that." He says turning around with the guard carrying antiseptic and bandages.

"Wait!" Bucky says looking to his feet. Not wanting to ask a thing of anyone in Hydra "Help her." He says firmly. Almost as a command. My father stops and turns, looking and Bucky for a minute and then turning to me.

"very well" motioning for the guard to come help me. Sighing, I give Bucky a look and then take a seat on the cot. The others slowly moving out of the way for the guard, but not before sending threatening looks his way.

Begrudgingly I take my shirt off so the soldier can clean any damage on my back and stomach. Bucky smacks him on the back of his head, hard, when he smiles with my shirt halfway off.

"What did you mean when you said "That's where she comes in?" earlier?" Bruce asks from the other cell

"When Rebecca was young, she was and is my favorite, her brother was never controllable. You on the other hand" he says turing back to me with a finger raised "You, I injected with a serum that will only be activated when I want it to. S.P.I.D.E.R"

"Is-is that why you always called me your little spider?" I ask quietly, finally the gravity of the situation forcing my sarcasm down.

"Partially, yes. Rather funny I think, but no. It was not the only reason. When you were a child you could never sit still. You were always wanting to help your mother cook. Or wanted to hel Sebastian with homework you couldn't hope to even understand at your age. I'm guessing you found the basement if you knew to find me here." he double checks, looking to me

"Yes"

"That's my girl." He says, making me cringe. The amount of pride on his face makes me sick "Well, whenever I would come up from the basement you always wanted to help me with whatever I was doing. You always said "daddy, when I get older I want to be just like you" he says, but before he can continue I interrupt him.

"And then you would scoop me up, into your arms and tell me the same thing everytime "You already are my little spider" but let me tell you something Daniel" I say using his first name "I was a little tiny girl who thought, when I said I was going to grow up and be like you, that I was going to become a doctor. Because, that was always your lie. You injected me with serum when I was even younger, before as you said, "I couldn't hope to understand at my age". I will never be like you." I tell him

The soldier, pressing on a rather deep cut on my back, makes me hiss. My eye contact with my father ending. This time it's Tony that wacks the guy on the back of the head.

I have to suppress a smile, as I turn back to my father.

"No, you will never be like me." he agrees, putting his hands behind his back, and walking closer to the bars "You will never be like me. I'm hundreds of years old, and I created the largest, most havoc, and chaos reaping organization in one world. Your world Becca, is insignificant. I stayed, to perhaps have an heir that would be hidden and safe until I needed him."

"Instead you had him killed" I whisper, the pieces all clicking together. Everyone in the cage with me turning, even the guard behind me ceases his endless antiseptic barrage on my back. "You killed him, because in that fucked up mind of yours, you needed me to become the oldest. You needed me to be the best, the strongest."
