Chapter 3: The seat

A year later...

Sitting up front with Levy and Natsu wasn't as bad as she thought. Lucy became friends with Levy. As for Natsu, she learned his every move. She knew what he was going to say, do, and when he was going to do it. Sitting next to Natsu made her into a "Natsu Fortune Teller."

However, this year, she wasn't planning on sitting next to him. But of course, it backfired. Their teacher wanted to separate the desks into pairs of two. Lucy prayed that she would sit with her best friend Levy.

The night before going to school to witness the new seating arrangements, she did her special Lucy ritual which almost always works.

As she danced around an orange and stomped her feet, her mother grew suspicious. Layla cracked opened the door enough so she can see and not be noticed. She saw Lucy dancing and stomping her feet.

She could barely make out the words she was saying but she heard her say," Luca Lulu wawawa, don't let me sit next to him! If I do I"ll never go to school! Luca Lulu wawawa, Let me sit next to my best bud Levy!"

Layla quickly covered her mouth because, she felt like laughing. She quickly closed the door and ran. She made sure to be as far away from Lucy so she wouldn't hear her laugh.

Then she went to her husband Jude and said, "Looks like our little girl has a crush." His mouth dropped at the thought and Layla laughed.

The next day when Lucy got to school, She met up with Levy. "Lu-chan, do you think we're going to sit together?"

Lucy smiled and she did a thumbs up and said proudly, "Of course we are! I did my special Lucy Ritual. My special Lucy Ritual is an almost 100% guarantee."

Levy smiled weakly and said with doubt in her voice," I know it'll work."

While walking to class, Lucy stopped walking and looked at the clock in the hallway. "Levy, stop walking."

"Why?" Levy asked in confusion.

Suddenly, Natsu came running by yelling," I'm sorry Erza!" Erza chased behind him with great anger in her eyes.

She then yelled,"Damn you Natsu, you ate my cake!"

"I'm sorry I was hungry," he yelled back.

Lucy rolled her eyes in annoyance, "That's why I told you to stop walking." Levy looked in amazement.

Then she asked, "Lu-chan, are you a fortune teller?"

She replied,"No, just a Natsu Fortune teller."

When they walked into class, Lucy saw Natsu had a big red bump on the top of his head. She also saw that the teacher had left a message on the board which said," Do NOT sit down." Natsu of course had to do something to go against the teacher's will.

He sat down and yelled,"Screw the teacher, I do what I want." Lucy rolled her eyes and mocked him. Levy laughed and Lucy laughed with her. Moments later, the teacher walked in and he raised an eyebrow at Natsu.

He asked frustrated, "Natsu, did you not see what was written on the board?"

Natsu put his finger in his noise and retorted, "Ya."

The teacher's face began to grow red. Then he said as calm as possible, "Then, why are you sitting down."

Natsu shrugged,"I do what I want."

The teacher's face grew red and he yelled, "Natsu, detention." All he did was shrug as he got up.

The teacher smiled and said,"I'm sorry class, forgive this...unthoughtful student. Now, lets begin sitting arrangements.

Lucy crossed her fingers, hoping she would sit next to Levy. Then the teacher looked at Natsu and said, "Before picking numbers from this box to get everyone into groups, I've decided to do one special grouping. Natsu, sit all the way in the back next to the window. Lucy my dear, I know you are the best conducted student in this class so I will be sitting you next to Natsu. Hopefully, your good character will rub off on him."

Lucy felt like crying. She couldn't believe she was stuck with him. The last person she wanted to be paired with. As she walked to her seat, she sighed and whispered," I hate this seat."
