Chapter 19: Everything's Breaking

Lira P.O.V

I ran back up to my room and quickly grabbed the house phone. I dialed mommy's phone number and waited for her to answer.

"Hello...?"

"Mommy!"

"Hi Lira, what's going on?"

I began to sob,"Mommy...I don't think daddy likes us anymore..."

"Honey, what are you-"

"He's naked with the lady."

"Naked? Lady?"

"The one with the short white hair."

"Lisanna?!"

"I think so..."

"And you said they were naked? "

"And making weird noises."

"Oh no..."

Lucy P.O.V

I knew what she meant. "Okay honey, just stay where you're at and I'll send Levy to pick you up."

"Okay..."

"Bye."

"Bye mommy..."

I covered my face with my hands and began to cry. I was right. He was cheating on me...

I quickly wiped my tears away and called Levy.

"Hey Levy, can you do me a favor?"

"Sure."

"Can you pick up Lira and have her stay over at your house. O-or you can just...bring her over."

"Sure, no problem."

"Thanks."

"I'll pick her up in about ten minutes. I can't have her over this week. Gajeel and I are busy preparing wedding plans and-"

"Wedding plans?"

"Yeah. We're getting married! I thought I told you, hmmm."

My blood went cold. She's...she's getting married...?

"Awww congratulations! I don't think you did, but that's fine," I said with a painful laugh.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I thought I did...But thanks! Anyway, I'll bring her over soon. Bye Lucy!"

I looked over to my hand with my engagement ring. That could have been me...

About an hour passed by and Lira was brought over to the hospital. She crawled onto the bed and laid with me. "Mommy...?"

"Yes?"

"What's gonna happen with daddy?"

My heart began to ache at her innocent question. I sighed as I tried to hold back my tears. "Well...You see..." I breathed in and began to her a story:

"Once upon a time, your dad and I were super best friends that later feel in love, but some people didn't like that. One day, an evil man came and kidnapped your mommy, but your dad saved me like a knight in shining armor. So when your dad saved me, he took me back to the house to give me a special gift: you. After he gave me you, he promised to always be with me and you forever and to always make us happy."

Lira looked at me and held onto my hand tightly, "If everyone's suppose to be happy...why am I feeling sad?"

I felt tears in my eyes as she spoke those words. I stroked her head and whispered, "Happiness doesn't last forever..."
