One week later

Lucy P.O.V

Ever since Natsu died, things have been complicated. I had two kids, no jobs, and a bunch of bills.

As I stared at the many envelopes on the table, I felt useless. It was 11 o clock at night and I still had to find a way to pay the bills off.

"Mommy..." I looked over at the light voice. "Lira. What are you doing up?" I said with a weak smile.

"Are you okay?"

I looked at her surprised. "What do you mean?"

"You look sick..." she said while tilting her head to the side.

"I'm fine. Now go back to bed."

"I can't Natsume won't stop crying."

I quickly jumped of my seat and ran towards Natsume. How didn't I hear him?

I picked him up from his crib and quickly put him to breast feed. "I'm gonna watch T.V." Lira whispered while walking towards the television. I sighed and walked towards the table.

As I held him in my arms, I looked towards my calculator. About $1063.75...

Lira then started walking back to her room. "You got tired?" I asked.

"No. I'm just getting my blanket."

I giggled and looked back at the bills. I looked over to the counter. Then I saw a strange brown square. Is that...

I steadily got up and walked over to the square. I then gave a light smile. He left his wallet!

I reached in and saw my escape through this month's bills.

***The next morning

"Mommy! Mommy! Wake up!" yelled Lira jumping onto my bed.

I groaned and tried to open my eyes. "Good morning Lira."

"Morning mommy!"

"Why're you so hyper?"

"Cuz, you need to come quick! Natsume's crying again!"

I sighed and quickly ran over to him. As I placed him to breast feed again, I sat down on the rocking chair and looked at Lira.

"Lira, have you felt anything weird? Like, a magical pulse or something?"

"Nope!"

I then grew concern. She's 4...she should be at least conjuring something...

I sighed and picked up the phone to call Levy.

"Hello?"

"Hi Levy."

"Oh! Hi Lucy. What's up?"

"Do you know anything about magic in toddlers? Like, when they get it..."

"Well, I was able to do mine at 6 years but, I don't know anything else."

"Thanks."

I hung up the phone and began to think it loud. "Six, huh."

"Six what, mommy?"

"No nothing."

*** 2 months later. October 4

"Happy Birthday Lira!"

Lira turns 5 today. I blew up some balloons and baked a cake.

"Thanks mommy!" As we ate the cake together, Lira began to cry.

"What's wrong?"

She then grabbed her sleeve and whipped her tears. "I miss daddy..."

I looked down at my plate. I looked back up at her and smiled. "I'm sure daddy's wishing you a happy birthday! Also...I don't think he wants you to be sad. Okay, Lira~"

She nodded and continued to eat.

***New Years

As I held a 6 month old Natsume and 5 year old Lira, I couldn't believe it's been a whole year.

Boom

"Mommy look!" Lira yelled while pointing towards the sky.

As we watched the gigantic, hot, burning streaks of light, illuminating the starry night sky, I couldn't feel happier. Even without him...I'm still happy...

***July 1st

Natsume turns 1 today.

"Happy birthday Mommy and Natsume!" Lira yelled while running around the hall.

"Lira...calm down," I said while sweat dropping.

"Okay!" She shouted while running towards the table. She sat down and looked over at Natsume.

"Mommy...how come Natsume's SUPER quite? Why doesn't he talk much like me?"

"Well...he's a baby."

"But...didn't I talk when I was a baby?"

Too much for your own good...

I looked over at Natsume.

They're so different. Lira's like Natsu and...Natsume's like me...

"Mommy! Make a wish!" She said while leaning on the table. "Lira no! Don't-"

The table flipped and the cake went flying and landed on Lira's head.

"Lira!" I yelled.

"Sorry..."

"You could've gotten-" I then heard laughter. I looked back at Natsume and I saw him smiling and laughing.

"He does laugh..." Lira said in awe. I frowned at her.

"Lammy!" He yelled.

"Lammy?" We asked at the same time. He walked over to Lira and gave her a hug. "Lammy."

"My name's not Lammy! It's Lira!"

"Relax Lira. He still can't pronounce it." She crossed her arms and pouted. "Lammy sounds like a llama..."

I couldn't help but laugh.

As I watched them, I couldn't help but smile.

Even without you...I can still go on.
