Chapter 15: Day Out Part 1

2 MONTHS LATER(3 am)

Lucy P.O.V

wouaaaaaaaaaaa!

I covered my ears with my pillow. "Natsu, you go calm her."

"Why me? She's too far...and I have work in a few hours..." He said while drifting back to sleep. I groaned and got up.

"What a great dad you are..." I said under my breath.

I walked over to Lira. "Coming sweetie," I said while entering the room. I went to the crib and picked her up. I sat on the rocking chair and patted her back.

I sang to her and soothed her until she went back to sleep. I placed her back in the crib, slowly removed my hands to not wake her up, but she began to cry again.

Damn! So close! I lifted her back up and repeated the same steps again. When she finally calmed down, I quickly placed her down and threw a pacifier in her mouth.

I stood there perfectly still to see what would happen. I looked back into the crib to see her sleeping. I sighed in relief. Finally, now I can go back to sleep. I walked back to the room and laid myself down on the bed.

"Lucy..." I turned to face Natsu.

"I thought you were asleep." He then sweat dropped.

"Well...I was~" I lifted a brow.

"Sure you were."

"Lucy, why don't you go visit Levy?"

"What do you mean? I'm busy with Lira."

"I'll take care of her. It's no big deal."

"Says the one who doesn't want to get up when she cries."

"Give me a chance. I'll take care of her and you can go see Levy. I'll call my boss and tell him it's an emergency at home."

"You're going to lie? Natsu, of you lose--"

"I'll be fine. Just take the say off."

I sighed and gave in to temptation. "I think I'll take you up on that offer. But she's only 2 months and-"

"Relax Lucy, I got this. Just leave all the baby bottles and stuff. I've got experience with Yugi."

"Okay Natsu. I'll go around 2. I want some sleep."

***(Time skip)

As I stood in front of the door, I couldn't help but feel really nervous about leaving Lira with Natsu. He's not the most reliable person I know.

"Okay, I'm leaving now." I said while walking through the door. Then I stopped and turned back.

"I can't leave her Natsu. She's like a part of me!" I said while running back to get her.

He quickly pulled her up. I gasped and yelled, "Natsu don't do that!"

"Lucy chill. She's gonna be all right. Trust me."

"Okay, if you say so... Just don't drop her and stuff. Make sure she get's her bottle every 2-4 hours which is like 7-10 times! Make sure she has a 2-4 hour nap, Okay? If she wakes up in the middle of her nap, don't feed her. She'll end up going hyper. Also, don't you dare try to teach her fire magic. She's only 2 months. Not 2 years. Anyway, she's gonna be a celestial wizard like me."

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah, I wont. I got this. Go enjoy your time."

I grabbed Lira's checks and kissed her forehead. "Oh, and don't brake her!"

Natsu P.O.V

What is she so nervous about? I know all of this. "I got it. You can go." She nodded and stepped out. I turned away and started to walk to the kitchen. Then the door slammed open.

"Is she crying yet?!"

I looked back to see Lucy. "Lucy, didn't you leave?"

"I did. Then I thought she was crying and came rushing back..."

I pointed to the door and yelled,"OUT!"

"Okay Okay. I'm leaving." She left and closed the door.

Then the door slammed open again. "Is she-"

"LUCY!"

"OKAY! I'm going!" She closed the door again and I signed.

I looked at Lira. "Looks like it's just me and you today." She smiled at me.

"Alright Lira, you need to build up your protection system...wait that doesn't right. What was it called? Now I wish I payed more attention in class...Something with an I." Imeow system? Illumise system? Wait, isn't that a pokemon? I can't remember."

"Uhh I'm going to call it your shield system!"

Lira stopped smiling at me and tilted her head.

"We're going to strengthen your shield system!" I hope she won't remember that system as shield because of me...

I placed her on the sofa and grabbed the stroller. I opened it and got the baby bag ready. I placed it all in the stroller and then went to get Lira. I held her up, and commented, "You're pretty heavy, how much milk have you been drinking?"

She did a tiny laugh and looked at me with precious eyes. "You're the best thing to ever happen to me..." I felt tears run down my face as I smiled at my baby.

I quickly wipped my tears and placed her in the stroller. "Look at me crying," I said with a laugh, "I've never been a cry baby."

I sighed and left for the park.

As I sat down on the bench at the park I started to wonder how Lira would be when she's 5, 10, 18, and even 50!

"Natsu?!"

I looked back and felt my heart drop.

Why is she here?!
