Chapter 13: Settling in

Lucy P.O.V

Flash Back

As we made it to Natsu's house, he turned around to face me.

He grabbed my hand and said," I'll set things right. I promise, Lucy."

I felt tears fill my eyes.

"I'll wait. I don't care how long it' takes. I'll wait for you."

"I love you Lucy." He came down and kissed me passionately.

"I will marry you, Lucy..."

End of Flash back

It's been 6 months since we've dropped out of school. I couldn't go back to my apartment. It was two small for the two of us, and, when we have the baby, there wont be any room for the baby. Natsu and I decided to live in his house.

It's about 3 weeks until the due date. According to Natsu.

"Natsu, we have to get the crib and paint the baby's room!"

Natsu ran by and grabbed his wallet. "I know I know! Just let me get the wallet and my shoes and I'll be right out..."

I opened the door and started walking towards the bus stop. Then Natsu came running behind me and yelled,"You can't just leave me like that! What happens if you fall and we..."

"I'm not going to fall and I'm not going to lose the baby!"

"I know, but just in case..."

We waited at the bus stop. "Lucy, I think we're going to need a car..."

"Why?"

"I mean. When the baby comes, we can't go on the bus forever. We can't go on family trips on a bus..."

"You have a point...but how are we even going to get a car?"

"I'll pick up another job, and I'll find a way to keep us sustained."

"Natsu..."

The bus came and we got on. Natsu, being over protective, made sure the stairs were fine and I could go on.

While on the bus, I couldn't help think about how naive we are. We're 16, clueless to the real world, and now I'm starting to think I've made the wrong desicions...

I felt a tap at my shoulder and it woke. Me up from my negative thoughts. "Lucy, are you okay?"

I looked at him and held his hand and smiled, "Yeah."

But even though everything's been a mess...having him by my side helps me get through everything...

When we got to the store, we bought a crib and a bunch of glow in the dark stars. We got lavander paint and white paint for the borders. "Wait, purple?!"Natsu cried confused.

"First of all, it's lavander, and second of all, is there something wrong with lavander?"

"Yeah!"

"What's wrong with purple?"

"You know. The baby might be a boy and all..."

"This is why I told you, let's go to the doctor to see what the gender the baby is, but who's the one that stopped me? Who's the one who said, we don't need doctors! We'll just wing it?!"

He rolled his eyes. "We'll I'm sorry we have no money to afford a doctor!"

"I could have helped paid somehow!"

"Lucy, we're not going to argue about this again..."

Money is always the issue...we're just stupid kids...what am I even doing...?

I sighed and walked towards the shelf, placing my hand over the lavander paint.

"Natsu, you know what?"

"What?"

"we're getting this color. If it's a girl, good. If it turns out to be a boy, he'll be too young to notice the difference!"

"Lucy! We are-" I grabbed the paint and walked away with it.

"Damn it Lucy! You can't--you--damn it all!" He ran towards me and grabbed the paint.

"You win..." He pouted.

"That's cause I'm the mother." I said with a cocky smile.

We walked to the cash register and payed.

When we got back, we went straight to the baby room.We placed the cans of paint down and Natsu brought out a chair. "Natsu, what are you doing with that chair?"

"I'm giving it to you. You're not suppose to do much work when you're pregnant."

"I know but. I want to help..."

He passed me the starts and said, "While I paint, you can start getting the stars ready to be placed."

"Natsu, you do know it takes a long time for paint to dry, right?"

He showed me a fist of fire. "That's why I'll make it dry faster." I giggled.

No wonder I fell for him...

Natsu ran across the wall and painted as quickly as possible. I saw the white paint on the floor. I got up from the chair and I moved it close to one for the borders in the middle of the wall.

"Natsu, I'm going to paint the upper border."

"Okay, just don't strain your self!"

I nodded and began to paint.

When the paint was done and dried, Natsu pasted the stars on the ceiling. I fixed the crib and placed Mr. Squishy in the crib. "Yugi...," I whispered as I placed my hand on Mr. Squishy.

"Lucy stand back!" Natsu grabbed my hand and pulled me to the door. He turned off the lights letting the stars light up the room.

"Just like a starry night sky..." I said breathless.

I rubbed my eyes,"Natsu, I have to hit the sack."

"Oh okay." He held my hand as he walked me to the bed room. He carefully laid me down and he laid down right next to me.

"Lucy, can you believe in about 3 weeks we'll be parents?"

I stared at the ceiling. "Yeah...in 3 weeks, I'll be going through pain..."

Natsu sweat dropped.

"Lucy, it's to early to think about that.

I smiled,"I know."

In three weeks or so...
