Asmodeus P.O.V.

"I want you to take me home." Evelyn said, tears glistening in her eyes, the sight breaking my heart.

"I'm sorry, I can't." I whisper, hoping she wouldn't hear me, but she did, causing the tears in her eyes to run down her face, causing my heart to clench.

"Fuck you." She said, standing up and running away.

"Such a disrespectful pet." Vassago said as Evelyn ran past her.

I growled at her and was rewarded with a flash of fear in her eyes. But my pleasure was short-lived as I focused back on Evelyn's retreating figure.

"Evelyn, wait!" I said standing up to follow her, but Vassago stepped into my path.

I growled at her again and she flinched, but otherwise didn't move.

"Who are you taking to the ball?" Vassago said loudly and confidently as Evelyn disappeared into the kitchen

"Why does it concern you?" I asked coldly.

"I simply want to know what color dress I should get."

"Maybe you should ask your date that then." I said stepping around her and her group of followers. "If you will excuse me, I have something important to do."

"Wait!" Vassago called after me as I followed the path Evelyn had taken. But what she had to say was of little importance to me so I turned a deaf ear to her pleas and continued walking in the direction the bond was pulling me, towards Evelyn.

After walking for a bit I suddenly felt a sudden surge of fear from Evelyn, over powering the sadness and the occasionally spikes of rage she was originally feeling.

I growled under my breath and suddenly felt very very angry. Someone had made Evelyn afraid. If they had harmed her in any way I would tear them apart oh so slowly. I started walking faster and was about to turn the corner where I knew Evelyn was when Satan stepped in front of my path. Behind him I could see Evelyn ran past and turn the opposite corner and out of sight.

Just as I opened my mouth to demand Satan step out of my way he held up a hand.

"Wait." He said, "Give her some time, she mourns." When he finished talking he walked around me and continued walking.

Deciding I should heed his advice I waited a little before making my way back to my room where I knew Evelyn was.

I paused outside the door and took a deep breath before gripping the door handle and pushing open the door.

The sight that greeted me when I opened the door filled me with sadness. Evelyn was curled up on the bed crying her little human heart out. I walked noiselessly over to the bed and lay down beside Evelyn. Keeping a silent vigil over her and hoping that she won't hate me when she wakes.
