"And there is the atrium." Mammon said, pointing to a circular area in the center of the building, open to the elements.
After Mammon had caught up with Evelyn and Asmodeus, and dragged them apart, he commenced giving her a tour of the place while Asmodeus sulked behind them.
"This is beautiful." Evelyn said, looking around the moonlit area in wonder.
"Yes it is." Asmodeus agreed, coming up behind Evelyn and placing his hands on her shoulders. "It is where we come to relax."
"It seems like the perfect place to do just that." Evelyn commented as she sat down on one of the stone benches ringing the edge of the atrium.
Asmodeus sat down beside her and they both gazed up at the sky.
"Does it always look like that?" Evelyn asked, still looking up at the full moon surrounded by a bright blood red sky.
"Yes, it never changes."
Just then Evelyn's stomach grumbled, and she flushed.
Asmodeus chuckled and looked down at her. "Hungry are you?" Evelyn nodded slowly. "Don't worry we have just one more place to visit then we can get you some food." He said standing up, and pulling her up with him.
"Okay, then where are we heading to?"
"An arboretum." At her confused look he clarified. "A greenhouse."
"Oh, okay." Evelyn said. Suddenly she looked startledas is just realizing something; she looked around a bit and then asked Asmodeus a question. "Hey do you know where Mammon went. It just occurred to me that he wasn't here."
Asmodeus grimaced. "I thought you were going to ask about something important." He relented at the glare Evelyn threw his way. "Okay, okay. He left around the time you sat down on bench."
"And you didn't see fit to mention this?"
"No." He answered bluntly
Evelyn snorted and rolled her eyes.
When they got to the arboretum Asmodues opened the door and gestured for her to go first.
"Ever the gentleman." Evelyn said, walking past him.
"Always." Asmodeus replied, following her inside.
"Wow." Evelyn said in wonder as she walked around and looked at plants in shades and shapes that she had never seen before, that she never knew could exist.
As Evelyn was gazing at a peculiar flower that looked as if it had been dipped in gold and had veins of blood, she reached out to touch it and Asmodeus's hand reached into her field of vision and grabbed her hand.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He said as he pulled her back and until her body collided with his.
"And why is that?" Evelyn asked, shivering despite the heat she could feel emanating from the body behind her, or maybe because of it.
"It's carnivorous."
"How do you know this?"
Asmodeus started chuckling; she could feel his chest shaking with the laughter. "Look up." He said, pointing to sign Evelyn didn't notice until now. It read 'Danger, do not put body parts near plants, they are carnivorous, you may lose them.'
"Oh." Evelyn said, turning red. "I didn't notice that."
This statement cause Asmodeus to laugh some more. "Come on." He said, placing an arm around her waist and guiding her towards the exit once his laughter had subsided. "Let's get you out of here and get you a meal before you become a meal for a hungry plant."
"Hey, I'm not clumsy enough to get eaten." Evelyn protested.
"If you say so." Was Asmodeus's response.
