Chapter Seventeen

Soon enough I join them on the bed and we begin season one of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

WIthin the first few episodes I knew that I would like Sokka the most.

I had laid in between the two girls as we ate the popcorn and sweets while watching the show.

I yawned for the fifth time within about 7 minutes and Auntie Niki turned to me.

"Do you want to take a nap? We can always continue watching this another time, plus it's only noon. We have all day and tonight. Phil said you're staying over again."

I sleepily nod and Minx laughs.

"Go to sleep, kiddo."

I nod again and fall asleep to Auntie Niki rubbing my back as I snuggle into her side.

When I woke up, I looked to my sides to see why I was being squished. On my right was Auntie Niki and on my left was Auntie Minx.

Wait, Auntie?

Huh, I guess I liked her more than I had thought.

"You up from your little nap, eh Kiddo?" Auntie Minx asks with a small yawn.

I rub the sleepiness from my eyes as I nod.

"Your Auntie Niki is taking a kitten nap too. We can watch more of the show or do something until she wakes up if you want to."

"I'm okay with doing whatever you want to."

She thinks for a moment then looks back at me, "I'm still tired. I say we watch more of Avatar until she wakes up. We've both already seen the show so it's fine if she misses a few episodes."

"Okay!"

She smiles at me and grabs the remote to play the show again. We sit back in bed and relax again.

I rest under her arm and snuggle up closer to her. It was fairly quiet besides the sound of the T.V. in the background.

It was easy to fall back asleep but I didn't want to. I knew I had the next day to be with Auntie Niki and Auntie Minx but I wanted to spend as much time as possible with them.

I started to squirm around though, trying to get comfy but I couldn't.

"Hey, kiddo, what's up? Why're you moving around so much?"

I made a noise from the back of my throat that sounded like a small whine. She laughed and sat up from where she was laying.

"Alright, let's not wake Auntie Niki up. She needs her rest. Come here." She pats her chest and I lay on top of it.

I twirl her purple shaded hair around my fingers as the show carries on. I thought I would've fallen asleep but somehow I managed to stay awake.

"How long will you be staying over at Auntie Niki's?" I question.

She thinks for a moment before answering.

"I'll be staying for the next two weeks. I live pretty far from here and Niki said she didn't want me paying for a fucking hotel so she told me to just stay here. Her fiance isn't here so it's fine."

Fiance?

"I bet we'll be spending lots of time together, kiddo. Maybe one day we could go out somewhere nice."

I nod my head and she continues to run her fingers through my hair. I look over to Niki when I hear her stirring. Her eyes open and she gives us a soft look as she wakes up. She still looked half asleep so Auntie Minx pulled her into our little snuggle-fest.

I'm pretty sure we all fell asleep in a pile but we were content so it was fine.

When I woke up it was just Auntie Niki and I left on the bed. I could tell it was early in the morning due to the light coming from the window.

I slowly got off of the bed and went through the house until I reached the kitchen where I saw Auntie Minx.

She was standing at the stove watching some video on her phone while cooking.

"Mornin' Auntie Minx." Even though it was the first time I called her Auntie Minx she didn't say anything.

"Good morning, kiddo. I'm just making breakfast. Your Auntie Niki has been really overworking herself lately so I want to let her rest for as long as possible."

She turns and smiles at me, "How about you go and set up the table?"

I nod and start setting out the dishes and silverware she gave me. We also cleaned up a bit before heading back to Auntie Niki.

We woke her up gently and took her out to the table.

"Awww, you guys didn't have to do this!" She fawned.

Auntie Minx just grinned.

I looked up to Auntie Niki and she patted my head. We all sat down and ate before deciding the rest of the day would be like the one before.

We just laid back down and put on Avatar again with Zuko curled up in my lap.

It was a very calming day for the three of us. I didn't want it to end.

I'll admit I didn't want to leave when Dad came to pick me up.

I said my goodbyes to Auntie Niki and Auntie Minx as Dad buckled my seat belt. We drove off and Dad told me of some things that happened while I was gone.

"So, we were trying to teach Tommy how to use the oven and he burnt himself. We have a small bandaid on it right now and some ointment. He'll be fine, it's just a small burn. Tubbo and Ranboo are over once again so you'll get to see them."

I smiled, I missed them.

As much as I love Auntie Niki and Minx, these people will always be my true family.
