Accidental Encounter

17. The Jungle

I knew it had to be someone in Jessica's little social circle who called me.  She didn't have an accent but I just knew she was behind it.   I locked all the doors and turned up the music and cleaned house.   Geronimo laid on the couch staring at me like I was a crazy woman.  After a half hour the house was spotless and Geronimo was clearly bored.  He dropped his favorite blue ball at my feet.   I opened the back door and threw the ball out.  He darted out after it.  He looked like a professional diver, straight into the pool.

I stepped out as the California sun embraced my face.  "Be right back G." I said as I stepped inside to put on my bathing suit.  A few minutes later in stepped out and dove into the pool.  The water was warm and the sky was blue. Not a cloud in the sky.  Geronimo and I continued to play catch until he lost interest.  I laid out in the sun and started to doze off.  Geronimo began barking uncontrollably at something in the back corner of the yard.   I sat up and went to investigate.   I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.   He continued to bark at the concrete wall that enclosed the yard.  By the time I was able to find something to get new high enough to look over the wall,  whatever was there had left.  

I felt uneasy the rest of the day.  Bruno was going to be busy all day so I knew I wasn't going to be hearing from him until morning. I decided to call Tiara to see if she wanted to go out to dinner.  I met up with Tiara and Presley at The Ivy.  We had a very pleasant dinner and decided to go out for a few drinks.  "I want a good strong drink.  What should I get ladies?" Presley asked. "Girl you know you love those fruity drinks. " Tiara laughed.  "Shut up betch I want something different." Presley snapped back.   "Try Hennessy and Baileys." I added.  Tiara and Presley both looked at me with a look of disgust."what the fuck? " they both said at the same time.  "Just try it.  It's actually really good." I added.  "If you say so.  Fine I'm gonna try it but if I don't like it you owe me a new drink." Presley said.   "Okay okay." I said.  We ordered another round of drinks.  we all went with Hennessy and Baileys.  "Cheers!" We said as we clicked glasses.  "Oh my god this is delicious! I could drink this first thing in the morning. Yum" Tiara said. "Yeah where have you been all my life?" Presley asked her glass.  "I told y'all it was good." I said we all started to dance.  

Three hours had passed and we were exhausted.  "Let's go.  I'm hungry." Said Tiara as Presley pulled out her phone to check the time.  "Oh dang yes leggo." Presley said.  We gathered our belongings and headed back to Bruno's house.  "Guys just drop me off at home.  I have a hot movie date waiting for me on the couch." Presley said.  "Damn, you could have said that sooner, we're practically at Bruno's." Yelled Tiara. "Sorry! Shit I thought he was out tonight but I guess he's waiting for little ol' me to come snuggle up." Presley replied as she applied lipgloss.  "Yeah you better apply that dick lube.  You betch!" Tiara joked as she turned the car around and headed towards Presley's apartment.   Ten minutes later we dropped Presley off and headed back to Bruno's.  

We pulled into the driveway and hopped out of the car.  As the gate closed we noticed a red Mercedes with limo tinted windows creeping.  "Who could that be?" Tiara questioned.  "I dunno maybe a neighbor?" I replied.  "Eh who knows. I gotta pee." Tiara said as she stumbled into the house. "Hey Geronimo, you behaving.  Daddy won't be back for a few weeks.  I know you miss him. " I cooed as I rubbed behind his ears.   "Did you leave the bathroom window open for a reason?" Tira asked as she exited it.  "Uh...hmmm no.  I don't know, maybe I did leave it open." I said as I questioned myself and tried to retrace my steps from this morning.  "Well miss thang I'm drunk and tired.  I will be in the guest room sawing logs.  You better have breakfast ready when I wake up." Tiara joked as she kicked off her shoes and headed down the hallway.  "Hahaha whoever wakes up first makes breakfast.   I'm gonna make something to eat right now.   You want some?" I asked.  "No. I just want to sleep." Tiara replied as she closed the door to the bedroom.  "Okay, I'll make extra incase you change your mind." I yelled hoping she heard me.
