15. Tears *teaser*

Laura's POV

I woke up still slightly spinning. Too much Patron. Oh my gosh I need food I thought as I focused on the room.   Bruno was sleeping soundly next to me.  I kissed his forehead as I snuck out of bed.   I showered and hurried to the kitchen to make breakfast.  I whipped up some breakfast burritos making sure to add extra bacon to Bruno's burrito.  The doorbell rang and Bruno yelled from the other room "babe answer that I ain't got no pants on."  I skipped passed him and kissed him in passing.  I opened the door and gasped as Jessica smirked and handed me his wallet, "Hi. Can you give this to Bruno. He left it at my house last night."

Bruno walked up behind me and his eyes said everything I needed to know.  I grabbed his wallet and Jessica winked at him as she turned to walk away.

"What the fuck is your wallet doing at her place?  What the fuck did"  "Baby wait let me" he cut me off. "Let you what?  Explain?" I questioned cutting him off.

"Oh my God Bruno...did you fuck her? Why the hell were in her house?" I cried.

"I went to talk to John.   She was at John's place." He replied.  "Did...you...fuck...her?" I again questioned.   He didn't reply.  He sighed deeply and put his head down as he ran his fingers through his afro.

I ran into the bedroom and started packing my belongings. Bruno followed me, "baby please just listen.  Wait.  Baby" he pleaded.  "Listen to what? How you left on my birthday and fuck your ex...the ex who tried to kill you.   Is that what you want me to hear? Because I don't need to hear it. I know it happened,  your eyes said it all." I said as I threw clothes in a duffle bag. I grabbed my bag and headed for the front door.  Ryan was sitting on the couch with Geronimo, "hey whoa what's going on?" He asked as I stormed out with tears in my eyes and Bruno closely following.  "Bruh don't let her leave.  Block that door." Bruno ordered pointing to the front door.   "What the fuck? You gonna hold me hostage in your house?" I asked.  "If that's what it takes for you to listen to me!" Bruno yelled as he grabbed the bag from my hand.  Ryan stood at the door with his eyes wide open trying to figure out the situation.

"Stop Bruno.  What more is there to say.  Seriously.  You can't undo what you did." I cried.

"Bruh what did you do?" Ryan asked.

"I had to talk to John. I left last night to go find him and Jessica was at his apartment.   I sat in my car and waited,  Jessica came out and said John was on his way and I went inside to wait.  Next thing I knew she was on top of me, I was drunk, tired, and vulnerable. "  he explained as Ryan came up and put his arm around me.

"Bruh what the fuck possessed you to that.  Why?" Ryan said as he stared at Bruno.

"I don't know man.  I guess it was familiar to me.  I failed as a man. I'm a fucking man that's why.  She's gorgeous and tempting.   I tried so hard not to." he explained.

"Well I should have figured you would cheat.  You did it to her with me.  Of course you'd do it to me.  You need to get your life together Bruno. You can't keep breaking hearts." I said as I grabbed my bag and again headed for the door.

"Laura stop! Where the hell you gonna go? Please let's talk about this. I made a mistake.  I'm so so so sorry." Bruno begged as dropped to his knees.

Ryan shrugged his shoulders and mouthed, "just listen to him please." 

I dropped my bag as I tried to fight back tears. Ryan hugged me tightly whispering, "it's gon be okay just let the fire settle and talk about it." 

Bruno wept on the floor as Ryan led me to the kitchen and handed me a glass of water.

"I'm sure he has a good explanation.  He loves you.  I think he loves you more than he's loved any lady who's been of any interest to him." He said.

"Why Ryan.  Why last night? Why with her?" I asked.

"I dunno but please just give him the opportunity to explain.  Go fix yourself up before your family and friends get here.   We had planned a lunch here.  Don't let them see you like this.  It's gonna be okay." He said as wipe a single tear from my cheek.   Ryan went into the living room and helped Bruno up. "Bruddah go get cleaned up.  Don't forget our lunch plans for today." He said as he led Bruno to his bedroom. 

"Shit!" Bruno said as he closed the door to the bedroom. 

I wanted so badly to run out of the house and never look back but I also wanted to bust through that bedroom door and make up for every tear we both shed.

"Go baby girl. Go talk to him. Please." Ryan said as he motioned for me to go into the bedroom.

I got up and slowly walked towards the bedroom.   Bruno was in the shower cussing himself out.  I went into the bathroom and quietly removed my clothes.  I joined him in the shower and hugged him tightly. He returned the hug as we both quietly cried.   Neither of us said a word.  The water started to cool so we hurried and washed up.  As we both dried off Bruno broke the silence. "Baby I'm so sorry.  Believe me that wasn't my intention.  I went there for answers.  She seduced me. She knew I was weak and she used that to get what she wanted.  Please forgive me." He said as he pulled me close to him.   "I...I...I don't know what to tbink, what to say, how to feel.   I'm numb right now Bru.  I never really loved anyone before a day I thought you were going to be my Prince Charming....but you're just like all the rest of the guys out there." I said.  "I understand.  Just stay here.  If you want you can stay in the guest room.  We can fix this baby." He said as he rubbed lotion on my back.  "Bruno I love you.  But you have to see this from my eyes.   From my heart." I said as I turned to face him. 

*knock knock* "Ey people are starting to arrive.  Kiss and make up and get out here. " Ryan said from the other side of the door. 

Bruno kissed my forehead and said, "put that pretty smile on and let's go be happy for our guests.   I promise everything will be okay.  Well talk about this after they all leave."

"Now you want me to be fake." I laughed as we finished up getting ready.   "There's that pretty smile. " he said as he flashed a dimple.

"Welcome back everyone!  Please make yourselves at home.  Laura will be out shortly.  She's finishing up her makeup." Bruno said as he entered the livingroom.
