A week had passed and Bruno barely talked to me. We had sex once since he's been home and it sure wasn't what I was used to. He seemed to be off in space.  He was spending a lot of time in his home studio, but he wasn't working on music. When I'd go out there to see what he was up to he'd get up and leave. I haven't seen any of the guys since the barbecue.  This morning he got up early and left without saying a word.

I noticed his duffle bag was still untouched so I decided to do his laundry.   I checked his pockets just incase he had a lighter or something in them; he's notorious for that.  I found a piece of paper in one of his pockets and my heart sank when I unfolded it. You taste as delicious as you look. Thanks for a great time -Rita 697-577-2591

I folded it back up and stuck it in my pocket. I wasn't going to say anything, I was going to see how far this would go.  He accused me and yet here he is doing what made him so mad.

It was nearly 4 in the afternoon when he showed up at home. "Hey baby you hungry? I made some burritos." I said in a sweet voice. "I already ate, thanks." He mumbled. "Oh. Where'd ya go?" I asked. "I had shit to do. Met up with Phil for a bit. Why are you so fucking nosey!" He snapped slamming his glass of water on the counter. "I'm gonna go take a shower." He said turning his back to me.   I stood there in disbelief. He has never acted this way.

The next day at work I couldn't get away from Jessica.  She just seemed to be everywhere I was. It's a small clinic but her as stays up front, except today.  "Jessica what the hell. Shouldn't you be at the front desk?" I said when she was in our office area.  "No, I'm not glued to that chair.  It's a slow day so I'm filing charts as you can see. Oh your 2 o'clock is going to be late. He called a little but ago." She replied putting down the files she had in hand and walking over to my desk. "So I can take a guess shit isn't so good at home." She said.  I looked her in the eyes, "what? How do you know? Honestly Jessica.  Why the fucking am I talking to you? All the shit we went through and here I am talking to you about life at home." She wiped the single tear from my cheek.  "I been there, when you came into the picture. Let me guess, he's not talking to you and is super touchy not the good kind of touchy. He's spending all his time in the studio." She said with a sincere look of sorry on her face.  "Yes." I replied.  She placed her hand on my shoulder and said, "I'm sorry Laura. I'm sorry for everything I did and everything I put you and Bruno through.  It was a jealous rage.  He was my world but I wasn't his.  I didn't want us to end, I loved the life we lived even though he wasn't around a bunch; I had the big house and nice cars and endless money and I didn't want that to end.  You came along and he fell in love with you. It felt like he ripped my heart from my chest and danced on it."  A tear escaped her eye and I returned the favor of wiping it.  "Jessica I'm so sorry. I didn't expect it to turn out like it did.  Honestly.  I hated you because of all that shit, because he hated you. You made life hell for us. But I forgive you." I said.  We both stood up as we heard the chime on the clinic door. "Looks like your 2 o'clock is here." She said as she fixed her hair headed to the front desk.

"Hey Kyle. So how's the knee feeling?" I asked as we headed to a treatment room.  "It's good. I played basketball yesterday and it didn't swell up, it doesn't hurt today, so I think you worked your magic and fixed me up."

I hooked him up to some electrical stimulation while he did some exercise.  I was sad to discharge him from our services but he was better and back to basketball.  "Here's my card. I'm glad we fixed ya up. If you ever need our services we welcome you back with open arms." I said walking him out.  "Thank you Laura. I will keep your card in my wallet." He winked and headed out.

I finished up my day and was shocked to see Jessica still there.  "I'm usually the last one here.  What are you still doing here? " I asked as I locked up the filing cabinet with all my clients charts.  "My babycakes is at a meeting tonight so I figured I'd catch up on entering stuff I to the computer. I'm done though.  Wanna grab dinner since, well ya by acting childish and mine is eating elsewhere."  She said grabbing her purse.  "Okay I guess, just don't try to poison me or fight me again." I laughed. "Ugh I said sorry. Drop it dammit " she said holding back a laugh.
