So this was something I've been noticing that the Naruto community on here lacks. It's mainly filled with OCs and there isn't many x reader fanfics of Naruto. I am more saying well... we lack a lot of x reader Naruto fics. But there is so many damn OC fanfics ngl.
You can still create the jutsu and chakra affinities for the reader. I actually came across a few x reader fanfics of one of my favourite series. The author created basically everything for the reader and it was so dang creative. It deserved the amount of reads it got.
I'm just saying it's possible where you can engage more readers by inserting their own character into the story. I'm finding a lot of the Naruto fandom is kinda dying off. I'm still very much into Naruto, but not as I used to be. I'm caught up to Boruto etc of course.
I'm saying possibly creating x reader fanfics for the series would lure readers to your story. And be creative with it too!
