Chapter eightt:
ALEX'S POV
Oh my god. Oh my freaking gosh! I'm kissing Marcus! I can't say I've never dreamed of this, because I have, and it's better then the dreaming. Our lips moved together like they were made for each others, so nice.
Suddenly, Marcus pulled away. I didn't want to open my eyes, if I did, I'd probably see him looking down at me with regret. I couldn't handle that.
"Open your eyes." Marcus whispered to me. I could hear the smile in his voice, and when I opened my eyes slowly, I saw the smile. Why did he have to be so cute?
Marcus chuckled a tiny laugh, then leaned his forehead down on mine, smiling.
"You're my business." My heart stopped, then fluttered.
Then suddenly the lights from my porch turned on, followed by Kendal's voice.
"Alex? Is that you?" Shit she can't know about this, I forgot she was here. I could hear she's been crying. I looked back to Marcus.
"I should go." I said, upset. Of course the one and only time this happens, I have to leave.
"Is something wrong with my sister?" Marcus asked.
"Steve cheated on her." I said. Marcus's face turned angry, he gets pretty protective of his sister, even thought they fight all the time.
"Dickhead." He said. I laughed and nodded.
"I'll talk to you later?" I asked, starting to walk away.
"Yeah." He said with a sexy smirk, then walked to his car.
"Alex?" Kendal called out again. I walked to the porch, saw her standing in the doorway with her makeup still streaming down her face.
"I hope you don't mind, I've been eating all your ice-cream. Sorry." I could help but laugh. I shook my head, and hugged her.
"Are you okay?" I asked, still hugging her. Kendal broke down and hugged me back.
"No." She said into my neck, crying. We walked into my house, and went to my room, and laid on the bed.
"Like how long was that going on for? I mean we had sex this weekend, I could have herpes!" Kendal said.
"You don't have herpes." I tried to reassure her, but probably failed. I'm probably the worst person when it comes to comforting people, I don't know what to say, at all.
The rest of the night, we watch late TV, talked shit about Steve, and Kendal cried, but I couldn't get what happened with Marcus out of my mind. He kissed me, yeah that idea was still processing through my mind. I've dreamed of it happening, but never once imagined it would really come true. Okay I totally sound like a stalker but its true.
Marcus didn't seem like he regreted it, like I thought he would. I wanted to tell Kendal but I couldn't for the two obvious reasons, 1) He's her brother, and 2) I'm sure she doesn't want to talk about anything but Steve.
In the morning, Kendal had to leave around 12 cause I had work at 1...with Marcus.
I dressed in my stupid uniform, khaki shorts, and a green compandy polo that said :JS Country Club, in fancy script letters.
I drove to the country club, and parked in the employee parking, the furthest area from the club itself. As I was walking I saw my friend, Kyle walking to work as well.
I skipped up to her, suddenly feeling giddy.
"Hey girlie." I said, surprising her. It was hot out, she was wearing the same stupid uniform as me, with sneakers as well.
"Hey Lex! Ready to listen to bitching rich people for seven hours?" She asked, sarcastically. I laughed and nodded.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
We walked in the employee lounge, clocked in, and grabbed a bite to eat. I couldn't help but look for Marcus, knowing he was working today.
"Who you looking for?" Kyle asked, slyly, while eating her wrap. The country club gives us the leftovers from the day before to eat, so that was a plus to working here.
"No one. Let's go." I said, grabbed her hand towards the golf range thing.
Our job is to just drive around in a company golf cart, selling over priced waters and snacks. We bring a radio since we can't use Ipod here, yeah it's stupid.
"Honestly, who would pay $6 for a water?" I asked, while snacking on a bag of chips.
"I know right?!" Kyle agreed, while driving the cart to middle aged rich men playing golf.
"Can I get you men anything to drink? Snack?" I asked, in my most professional voice. I was smiling a stupid fake smile so they would tip us, but inside, I was laughing my ass off!
"Yes, ma'am. Two water bottles please." The man asked. I grabbed the waters, and gave them to him.
"Twelve dollars please." I said, still smiling. The one man's son's eyes bulged out in surprise as his father payed twelve dollars for water not worth a dollar. He handed me a twenty.
"Keep the change." He said, then walked off. i looked at Kyle and smiled.
"Fuck yeah."
