"So, you found out the hard way hm? What did you even expect? I'm a Hirai after all" He turned her back on her, not even wanting to face her anymore. But now Amara couldn't see what look he has on his face. though even if she did she wouldn't be able to tell if he was lying or not at that moment. "Before I met you, even though "ane" was in your name, I thought of your kind as monsters" he began, his tone as dead as his usual eyes. "When the emperor heard about a being who's might was as great as Ymir yet has the power as strong as a deity, he knew it was an arcane... and so as a noble unworthy of living three nations near the emperor, I was tasked to retrieve you"

Retrieve information on the heralds? An army of gifted for the empire? Such trivial things are better suited for someone less important than the uncrowned prince of the Hirai. "so... you really are on of the emperor's dogs"

He chuckled. "hehe, that has always been established, no?" his eyes were that of a hunter looking at its prey. "but really, even after finding out I'm Hayato, did you really not give it a second thought? I'm a spy, did you really think... I cared about you?" he mocked her on, turning his head back with a smirk on his lips. "Did you really think... I was going to beg on my knees for you to let me live by your side once again? For you to forgive me? for you to listen to my proclamation of love about the pretty moon?"

Pretty moon. The moon is beautiful isn't it? Words that amara has never heard from anyone before. Not Sora, not Ryusei and not even that dead orias. "what moon? And you're only repeating the things you've said to me... in my memories" his eyes flashed for a second, a look of dread.

His face donned a solemn and forlorn expression. "I never liked you, amara, I only wanted to fight you"

Amara stared blankly at him, a smile stuck on her lips. she should have known.

The sky truly was pretty that night. Absent of the moon. The tapestry of stars was truly woven from the stuff of dreams. The world she experienced in fumetsuhi could barely be reality to her, it felt evanescent. The true reality lies in the person standing opposite her. the otherworldly welkin was clearly something that she was supposed to pay attention to. to engrave it in her mind, this single memory of the end of their dance.

But how could he when just kept staring at her? waiting for a response. He caught a petal of a flower brought by the breeze. How could she when she just watched his burn the petal into ash. Soot that he let fall to the ground as if it were nothing. As if it were her.

He began to approach her. His fiery eyes struck through her like a thousand arrows. A dismal, barren glare only to be replaced with the mirth that now danced in his gaze. . Making his usually dead fish eyes sparkle like the radiant eternal summer sun when reflected across a deep glistening pond. Wisps of her hair swept along her cheeks as the wind spirits around them danced.

He reached out a hand, tucking the strands of hair that caressed her cheeks the way his fingers longed to do behind her ear. He wanted a better look of her face. she knew, yet she still flinched. Is that why did his smile disappear? Replaced by a coldblooded frown.

His bright eyes were quickly washed over with darkness. Dead once again, he turned. "...I really am sorry," his blade unsheathed so quickly Amara was scared that he had cut off her hair by accident.

She jumped back as all he could do was keep attacking. His sharp blade, naught but metal, cutting through the air as he kept approaching her. she would have kept stepping backwards away from him had they not been in her garden.

Eventually, as her tilted feet clung on to the grass, she was forced to pull out her scythe. she didn't want to fight him. Not at all. Not after that night. And so her scythe became nothing but a spear. Not even a good one considering it's small head, it seemed more like a staff than a spear.
