Losturanes
One of the most prized illuminated guards to the gods. They wield their regalias of a daemon's spirit, which they had bent to their will as soon as they slayed one, they are able to exterminate this world of miasmas and infection of the abyss.
For every gifted human that corrupts into a daemon, a Losturane would appear to restore the order for the gods. For every Losturane, a mundane would fall into their hands as a regalia to help restore the before. And for every arcane that appear on the face of this world, a god in Empyrea would become wary.
the origins of the arcane however have but faded. No one longer believes the tales of how they came to be unless those tales were words that fall form the mouth of a deity of the empyreal sky.
A millennia ago, when the sky bore three moons and the floating isles were grounded, the gods were dispassionate and detached from the mortals, yet using human land to declare war Amongst themselves. The mortal realm knew naught but plague and war. The deities above us fought with us as their weapons, thousands of souls returned to the cycle of elements, yet thousands of bittered souls that once had the blood of Empyrea flowing in their veins were corrupted.
The rebellious souls of the gifted would return to their fleshy vessels as that of daemons. Souls of pure evil on corrupted good starved the lands and boiled the waters.
A myriad of gods yet to be blinded by their warmongering siblings noticed the suffering and mustered the Losturanes who worshiped them to purge the daemons and rid this world of them. illuminated beings whom all bore a regalia of a mundane blessed by the gods. The previous incarnation of the lord of the stars summons a powerful arcane whom she appointed as the leader of the Losturanes.
The Losturanes became the guardians of the gifted, guarding them from corruption and vanquishing those who did under the careful guidance of the arcanes. Yet as mighty as they were, some Losturanes were driven unto their rage and brutality, others unto madness which fear mongered. Slaughtering their own and their regalias and the innocent, when the previous ruler of gods fell out of divinity, the arcane was then punished for not caring for their army.
Their bloodline now cursed. Dead before birth and die before death. The Arcane's bloodline slowly disappeared off the face of this world, those who managed to be summoned, were forced to live a path to become the replacement of a god should they manage to beat them. But even when the arcanes were at their last breath, they promised to the mortals they'll return should the daemons of the abyss return to corrupt this world.
"Should an arcane reappear however, they are destined to carry the burden as the bridge between realms" she quoted from the book. the first book in the series, before the sky. "And should they be able to carry the burden, I'm sure their legacy would be written down as a legend for the generations to come..."
Amara still remembered that story. Her grandpa Valac used to watch her when her parents weren't around. He would have fun cooking for her and spoiling her. he even took her shopping sometimes. But it took years for him to finally do that. At the beginning he would only watch over her training. her grandmother didn't like him though. Amylia also didn't like him. Amylia? who was Amylia?
The air that night was cold, even though it was still the season when Himiko no mikoto's gaze was most apparent. The tapestry of night letting a shadow veil everything it could touch. Only shying away from the golden glow of candles and lamps. The moon was like the stars, though bright and supposedly large, barely provided light, instead casting a blue hue on everything under her gaze.
ncluding the figure on her roof. "It seems we're stuck together again, hm? Sayami-kun" Amara smiled, sitting with Sayami side by side as they watched the absurdly large moon raise into the welkin. "I have to thank you for knocking out my guards, we can't have them listening in on us right?"
