Seeing her show openings, Haru had jumped down to lend her a hand. "your hair darkened" Amara looked at the lock of hair he held up, he was nearly right, it was darker only for it to lighten once again. "that wasn't you was it?" he asked, wiping the cold sweat on her forehead.
"no..." Amara stared at the hand she had pulled away from her aching eye. "you... can't talk of this to anyone... promise me you won't, I'm asking this of you not as a herald... but as your... er, temporary friend" he smirked.
"temporary? Hm... make that permanent and maybe I'll keep that promise." He teased her.
At least he was turning away from the topic she asked him to keep secret. Amara smiled "tch, we can talk later... we should go" she heard the banging begin again forcing her to realise she had unconsciously grabbed his hand, allowing him to pull her upwards to the cold air above the cool smooth tiles. Flustered, she pulled her hand away then slowly formed back her teasing tongue "hm... say prince Hirai, will you tell where in the palace we should go to avoid suspicion?"
"you don't want to leave yet?" he grinned excitedly.
"ho, it's not every day I get invited to be anywhere near the immortal emperor of divine descent" Amara smirked, her hand wrapping the other bloodied one in a handkerchief she brought "besides, if we leave now it would be extremely suspicious" Amara's eyes flicker to the balcony she once was. She grinned, taking off the tiles at the top of the roof to reach the balcony smoothly, pulling him along with her.
Floating down like how Asteria did, yet another power that parasite had gotten before she did, she pushed Haru to the balcony railing. "take off the mask" she smirked as he did so. Pushing him up against the balcony, ruffling his hair as she placed her face half an inch away from him, their breath's intertwining.
Amara grabbed a glass she forgot she took from his study and slammed it to the ground. "what was that for?" Haru asked in a furious whisper as a crowd began opening the door behind them, seeing them together. that should be enough witnesses, Amara sighed as she pulled herself off him. "Amara..." he said as if warning her.
"my, just play along will you? How come you get to tease me and I never get to do the same to you?" she asked though stopping her rants as she saw his bright red flush that stretched from ear to ear. The smooth talking charming prince Hirai easily wooed by her. How adorable, she grinned. "ah, forgive me for the noise" she exclaimed and smiled at the crowd the second she spun..
She walked the opposite direction of the crowd as Haru did to her. Whispers erupted as small giggles did as well. Had she not planned for this, they would have drowned and suffocated her. But this was what she wanted. Amara could feel the crowd watching her every move before she disappeared around the corner.
Walking along the engawa, she slowly realised what she had done, her face beginning to flush red as she grinned to herself at the thought of her burst of boldness that had suddenly appeared a few moments ago. The way she acted nearly reminds herself of what Asteria would do. Or at least what people similar to that parasite would do. So close, Amara smiled as she couldn't stop herself from jumping in excitement. Around the corner, Haru appeared once again, smirking.
"that was far too bold, you won't hear the end of the gossip for weeks" he said, approaching her as he began to fix his clothes. Amara could hear the fireworks behind her, ones lit up every summer festival.
She turned to face them, with Haru right behind her then standing with her under the blossoming colourful and bright flowers in the firmament. "I know" she shrugged. "That was the whole point wasn't it?" He sighed loudly, placing a hand on her head. Amara shot him a confused look. Only to have an idea pop into her head.
