Chapter 73

Sophia

"Enzo?" He was really scaring me now. Give me something Enzo, anything. "Say something please." I am loosing my nerves. He needs to say something. "He woke up." He said in a low voice.

My hand went to my mouth. For a minute I couldn't believe what he said. I was so shocked that I literally jumped off the floor and stepped back from him. I was waiting to hear this for so long and now when he said it, it felt like its not real. I tried to pinch me to make sure that this ain't a dream. "He woke up" I sat on the floor crying and laughing at the same time. "Damon woke up" I was so caught up in my emotions that I forgot Enzo's sobs. He cried for the first time since we came here. He kept it together and now he is letting it out when it's over. I got up and reach to him. I sat beside him and he leaned into me and I hugged him hard. "He woke up Soph, he woke up, finally" he kept saying.

"We have shifted him into the room, you guys can meet him now." The doctor said and we got up. We thanked him and literally ran towards his room.

We entered and his eyes were still closed. The wires were still there. The mask however, wasn't there anymore. I touched his cheek and he opened his eyes. I was so waiting to look into these eyes again. Thank you God. I let of a breath of relief.

"Doll" he said as his lips turned slightly upwards forming half a smile on his face. His left hand reached to my face and I held it as he touched me. I closed my eyes. I want to relish this moment. I never want to loose his touch again.

"You took your sweet time to wake him leaving this crazy one over me" Enzo said shuffling my hair. "Well you could have gotten her to change in some non bloody clothes" said Damon and I realized I am still in the same clothes as I came here. "How is Ric?" He asked "Where is he?" He asked and Enzo and I looked at each other. "Well he was shot too. He-he is um- he is recovering. Caprice is with him" Enzo told him. "Shot?" He said trying to get up but fell as he couldn't take the support of his hands. "Damon easy." I said and Enzo and I pulled him in the sitting position. "How, what happened? How long was I asleep?" He asked "almost four days", "Four days? So he is-he is still in the hospital? How bad is he hurt?" he asked and the lines on his forehead were giving his worries. Enzo looked at me for help but I-I was quite and I avoided his gaze. What made him think that I could have the courage to tell him that Ric is in coma. "Buddy you need to rest. Ric will be fine too. Once you get better you can see him." Enzo try to convince him. "Well I am better enough" he said trying to get up. "Damon, what are you doing? You woke five minutes ago, you are not leaving this bed." I said pushing him down before he could get up. "I need to see Ric, Doll" he said removing my hand from his shoulder.

"Of course you do, but first why don't we get to see you" we heard Caprice's voice. She came with Alysia. Alysia literally ran and hugged Damon. "I was so scared. I thought I will loose you again." She said probably scared that what she went through when she was thirteen, she might have to go through that again. The day she lost Laeila she lost her family. She was too young to understand that they send her away because they needed her safe. "Shhh...sugar, relax I am here. Everything is fine kiddo. You won't loose me again." He consoled her and she nodded breaking the hug. He wiped her tears and kissed her forehead. "You should rest Don, don't exhaust yourself too much." Said Caprice. "How is he?" He asked and she took a deep breath "well aren't you brothers stubborn. You woke up. I am sure now he will be up and about too" she said with half a smile. "But Cap-" "Relax I am taking care of him. I won't let you loose him" she said holding his hand. Only she could have said this to him.

"That's strange." Damon said looking at her hand. "What happened Don?" I asked him seeing this strange expression on his face. "I-I kind of didn't feel your hand" he told Caprice. "What does that supposed to mean?" She asked confused and so was I. "Probably it's nothing. You should leave and stay with him, what if he needs anything, huh" Damon said to her and she went quite. Her eyes were saying how much she wants that he needs something from her. Just only if he could say it once. But she covered that up quickly and nodded with a smile "Take care Don, I will see you soon." She said and hugged him lightly. Alysia too left with her.
