Chapter 2: The Literature Club

I hear my phone alarm go off, I sit up in my bed and turned it off. I still can't believe I'm in the game. I look down at my hands thinking about it.

It is 7:30, I still have enough time. I get up from my bed and got ready for school. I decided to get a toast for breakfast, when I finished I walked out my house. I look over at Sayori's house and didn't see her.

Hm, just probably already left? I started walking to school then half way there I hear a girl rushing towards me calling my name. I look behind me and stop and it turns out it's Sayori.

She stops infront of me out of breath. "W-Wait.. For me!" She said slowly trying to catch her breath. "What took you so long?" i ask " O-Oh I overslept" She responded. I looked at her in a disappointed way. Sayori hmphs, "Hey I'm sorry ok!" She yelled. I laughed it off then we walked to school.

When we arrived we went to our lockers and sorted everything before we went to class. After we were done I headed to class and began the day.

It's two minutes before my last class ends. It wasn't too bad, the teachers are ok. Some of them were really strict and some were nice. I can deal with this every week.

The bell rings and I start packing up and getting up from my seat. I walk out of the class into the hall, I stop by the window and look out. It's quite nice outside. I never thought in the slightest that I'll have something like this happened to me.

But.. I'm pretty grateful that out of everyone the game choose me to come here. What also bothers me, is that I've never seen the other girls. I wonder they are do- "Mike? Mike!!" I hear someone yell beside me. I jump and look to see its Sayori looking concerned.

"O-Oh hey wassup?" I said "You alright? You just spaced out." She responded. "Yeah I'm doing fine, just thinking about some stuff that happened recently." I said

"Oh alright, so I wanted to ask you.. If you uh will like to join the club I'm in. The liter-" I cut her off saying "Yes". "Wait really??' Sayori looked at me happy and excited. "Yeah of course" I responded. She gave me a quick hug jumping up and down.

We then walk to the literature club doors and stop. "You ready?" She asked, I nodded my head as she opens the door. "Hey guys! I have the new member here! He's name is Mike!" Sayori announced.

I look around and see Monika, Yuri and Natsuki. "Oh hey Mike welcome!"
Monika said with a smile on her face. Wait how does she know my name? Oh wait probably the previous MC past memories they had met.

"Hi Monika!" I responded. Yuri said hello too, although she's shy she was able too. Natsuki did too, but seems like she does not like me that much. More kinda mad to see me other than that. She looks cute whens she is mad.

"Ok guys lets welcome the new member with a little party!" Monika announced. Sayori had me started moving the tables into a circle so we are more close. Natsuki put down the cupcakes on the table, when she looked away Sayori tried to grab one but Monika slapped her hand.

Poor Sayori. Yuri brought over the tea and then we all sat down. Everyone got a cupcake and a tea cup. As soon Sayori got the chance to eat the cupcake, she did so fast without hesitation. That's gotta be a record right?

I start to take a bite out of the cupcake, while doing so I saw Natsuki staring at me. "Wow, this really good Natsuki, you did a great job on making these." I said. She slightly blushed, "Y-Yeah whatever thanks, I'm very good at baking after all!" She responded.

I smile at the little comment at the end she made. Monika spoke up and asked me and Sayori, "How do you know each other Sayori and Mike?". Me and Sayori look at each other for a second then as I was about to talk she cut me off.

"We met when we were kids, he was always so nice to me, he even helped clean my room all the time." Sayori said with a faint smile, "But.. After a while he started to avoid me because of something I don't know.." She said. What happened to this MC? I feel kinda bad fot taking his place now. Everyone went silent, and looked down at their tea cups.

Yuri decided to break the silence and ask me "Hey Mike, what kinda books do you read?". I'm going to be honest, I don't even read books much. I just never found them enjoyable, if I tell them that will they be disappointed? Or even hate me? "Ohh yeah I like to read a lot of books heh heh" I said nervously

Why did I lie? "Oh? Is there any you read recently?" Yuri asked. Damn, too many questions how can I comeback from this? "Oh guys it's getting late, we should get going." Everyone agreed and started packing up. Damn, nice save Monika, I owe you one.

"Hey you ready to go?" Sayori asked, "Yeah let's go" I responded. As we were about to leave, Yuri came up to me "Mike, since you like books, maybe you wouldn't mind reading this and let me know how it is?" She said. She hands me the book and I look at the cover, it's the same book she was reading earlier Scape.

"Sure! I wouldn't mind." I answered, she gives me a faint smile and we all left. "Y'know, I didn't really think you'd join the club that easily." Sayori said, "Yeah I know, I thought it would be good to try something new for a change." I responded.

"Thanks for coming, it makes me happy knowing your happy." She said while blushing a little. "Heh thanks." I responded. As we arrived at our homes she gives me a hug before saying our goodbyes once more.

We enter our houses and close the doors, I then sat down on the couch. Today was alright, I got to meet the girls and enjoy those good cupcakes. I hope tommorow goes better.

I walk up stairs to my room then laid in my bed, this time I turned the light off and fell asleep slowly but surely.
