Miki's POV:

"You didnt even ask her if she wanted a ride home! You are a jerk grandpa." i told him nibbling on my cookie.

"I did too!" he said.

"Yeah, once. It was clear her backpack was heavy and she needed a lift. Tsk." i told him. "And she was so nice and patient with you during your tutor session."

"Oh shut up. This was like years ago. Get over it."

"Whatever. Continue." i said.

"Nah, im getting pretty sleepy." he said. Then he rolled his head back and started snoring. I threw my cookie at him. He jumped his eyes wide. I started laughing at him.

"Ow. My heart. I think Im having a heart attack." he  yelled, putting his hand over his chest.

"Too bad. Were snowed in and I dont think any of us are doctors." i said grabbing my cookie off the floor and dusted it off. I ate the rest of it and drank my milk. Yum.

"Riiight..." he said getting comfortable in his seat. "Well the next day I started finally noticing her around school. It was weird. I never really saw her before. But I started talking to her more. There was something about her that I liked...".....

Tyler's POV:

I was walking to second period when I saw Ivy. She was walking around everyone trying to be invisible. She was pushed up against the lockers trying not to touch anyone or get in their way. Well she was doing a good job. No one payed attention to her. Even the teachers. But I did.

"Hey Ivy!" i screamed catching a lot of peoples attention. Ivy whipped her head around and looked at me with wide eyes. Well wider eyes because of the glasses. She looked around her and noticed some people were looking at her too.

She abruptly turned around and walked the other way. I lost her in the crowd. Plus there was a girl hanging off my arm which I shook off trying not to hurt her. See, my mama taught me how to respect women.

During lunch I saw her again. She was sitting in the courtyard, alone. I came and sat next to her. She was doing her homework.

"You should eat." i suggested.

"Nah I need to get this done." she mumbled.

"C'mon. Please. For me." i said giving her the puppy dog eyes.

She snorted and gave me a look saying 'are- you- serious?'

"Whatever. Im just trying to help. I mean you look like one of those anorexic wannabe popular girls." i told her getting up. She bit the corner of her lip which was kinda cute. But she was still ugly.

"Fine, help me up." she said snapping her notebook shut and holding her hands out. "But your buying."

"Deal." i said pulling her up.

We walked to the lunch room side by side. She was walking with her head down again while I was walking confidently and smiling.

We were in the lunch line while I was trying to make small talk with her but she would only answer with one word. After a while she was starting to loosen up and giggling at what I said or did. I was having a good time too. Not putting up a pretense for people and just being me. I guess thats why I like hanging out with Ivy.

I think I just made a friend that isnt fake.

"Do you wanna sit with me at my table?" i asked her after we got our food.

"I dont think thats a good idea Tyler." i liked the way my name rolled off her tongue.

"Why not?" i asked.

"Your pushing it Tyler." she told me. I sighed.

"Sorry."

After an awkward silence I told her, "I'll sit with you outside."

She looked at me with disbelief. "What about your friends?"

I glanced at them and saw them laughing at random people. I really shouldnt be hanging out with that type of crowd.

"They're not my friends. Your my only friend thats not fake so therefore im sitting with you." i coughed trying to keep my cool down. She looked away from me but I could see red coming up to her cheeks.

"C'mon, lets go." i said slinging my arm around her shoulder and dragging her to the courtyard. This time she was really red.

"Hey Tyler! What are you doing?!" Katy, a girl from my table, yelled. This caught everyones attention at the table. She wasnt just some girl but she was also my ex.

I scowled at her.

"Im having lunch with Ivy." i yelled back at her. Most part of the lunch room was quiet, being nosy and listening to us. I scowled even deeper at that.

"Your choosing the loner over us?" she yelled in disbelief. Some of the guys there murmured an agreement.

I was silently thinking if this was the right thing to do. I looked down at Ivy and saw her frowning and tense. She needed a friend a I needed a true one.

I looked back up at Katy and smiled. I dropped my arm from Ivy and Katy smiled back.

"Pretty much." i told her, smirking. I wrapped my arm around Ivys waist this time and dragged her out of there, but not before I saw Katy's jaw drop and scream in frustration.

Ivy actually had curves underneath this big sweater. I could feel it.

What if she was actually pretty underneath all this. That would be weird! I glanced at her. She was biting the corner of her lip again. But she was so ugly!

We reached the tree she was sitting under and we sat down leaning on it.

"You didnt have to do that." she whispered.

"But I did." i shrugged.

There was this gut feeling inside me saying 'what have i done?'

What have I done? I was unsure.

"Thanks." she whispered looking at me. Her eyes were a nice dark blue. I guess the only thing pretty about her was her eyes and lips. But either way her eyes were too big.

"Your very welcome." i grinned at her. It was worth it. She smiled. We sat there the whole time laughing and eating. It felt nice to talk to her.

The bell rang signaling lunch was over. I stood up after helping her with her stuff.

"You really need to put some of this stuff away. They're heavy. Your gonna have back problems, watch." i said as she hitched her backup up higher.

"I can handle it." she told me.

"Okay. See you at your place." i said running away. I had to go to my locker. I looked back at her grinning but it faded. She was frowning looking at my back. My face became puzzled. When she saw me looking she gave me a smile......

Miki's POV:

..... That was really nice of grandpa to do.

"What you did was right, grandpa." i told him.

"I think so too." he said smiling at the memory.

I wonder, were my friends and I really like that? Like that chick Katy and that table? I hope not. Or else when I get back in Cali things are about to go down......
