Jack found himself really enjoying himself on the S.S Tipton. He would text Matt and all of his friends about his time on the cruise ship whenever he wasn't busy with school, homework and his new friends.
Jack always tries to make the effort to keep in contact with his friends back in New York.
"Hey, Jack," a familiar voice said.
Jack looked up from his history textbook.
"Oh, hey, Bailey," Jack smiled at Bailey Pickett.
Bailey Pickett was one of the first people Jack on the ship. After meeting Evan and being introduced to the twins, Evan introduced Jack to Bailey, who was dating Cody, to Jack's surprised.
"I know, right?" Evan had said when Jack looked surprised at the news of Cody and Bailey dating. "It's surprising that Cody got a girlfriend."
Jack had laughed nervously.
Jack hardly knew Cody, but based on the one conversation at the time, Jack found it hard to believe that someone like Cody could get a girlfriend.
"He reminds me of a friend of mines back home," Jack had said, chuckling. "My friend, Justin, somehow began dating this really pretty girl named Juliet. Justin is nice and all, but what Juliet sees in him, I'll never know."
Evan laughed.
"Can I join you?" Bailey asked.
"Oh, yeah, sure," Jack nodded.
He moved some of his books out of the way for Bailey to join him.
"Whatcha working on?" Bailey asked as she placed her notebooks on the table.
They were sitting at a table out on deck.
Zack and Cody were both working.
Zack worked at the smoothie bar while Cody worked as a towel boy.
"History," Jack sighed.
"Ooh, did you finish the essay yet?" Bailey asked.
"Not yet," Jack shook his head.
He leaned over his textbook, trying to find something to support his argument.
"I just have to finish this paragraph and the conclusion and I'm done," Jack sighed.
He leaned back and stretched. He had been working on the essay for nearly two hours.
"Do you need help with the essay?" Bailey offered. "I can make notes and -"
"No, thanks," Jack cut her off.
Jack learned his lesson from letting Bailey go over his essays.
He had let her go over his English essay once and she left so many notes that it seemed like she had rewritten his entire essay. It left a slightly bitter taste in his mouth.
He ignored most of the notes that Bailey left him and just fixed any structural and grammar mistakes he had.
To Bailey's surprise, Jack had gotten a B+ on his essay.
"Are you sure?" Bailey asked, eagerly. "I don't mind leaving you -"
"No," Jack shook his head. "I'm fine."
Bailey gave in, knowing he wouldn't budge.
Jack leaned over to his laptop and quoted one of the things the history textbook said was able to finish that paragraph and was able to get started on the conclusion.
He saved the essay on the laptop and got started on his math homework.
His mouth hung open as he tried to figure out what they were supposed to do.
