26 - Interview Gone Wrong

Jack and Evan watched Zack get interviews for finding the crown of Xaria. 

Even though this was expected of Zack to take credit for this, Jack was not too happy about Zack's abuse of his newfound "fame."

A reporter from the island's news station came on board of the S.S Tipton to interview Zack.

"This is Isabel Cruz," a report said, "reporting from the deck of the S.S. Tipton."

She was walking backwards until she got to Zack.

"I'm here with Zachary Martin," she continued, "the young -"

"And handsome," Zack said, turning around with a smile on his face.

Cody looked at his twin in disbelief and Miss. Tutweiller smiled proudly, not caring that Zack is not her brightest student.

"Whatever," Isabel Cruz said. "Archeologist who discovered the ancient crown of Xaria," she continued. 

Zack nodded.

"So, Zack, was this your first big discovery?" Cruz asked.

 "Actually, nay," he said. "Last year, I went on a harrowing search for the emerald monkey."

"What?" Jack said.

"That's a toy," Cody said to his friends and teacher, "he dug out of a box of Marshmallow Crunchy O's, which was supposed to be mine because he got the stickers -"

"Yeah, yeah, okay, we get it," Evan interrupted.

"What was the most difficult about discovering the crown?" Cruz asked Zack. "The years of research? The painstaking digging?"

"Didn't you do all the research?" Evan asked.

"Yes, I did!" Cody said.

"I'd have to say, fighting off the giant scorpions," Zack answered Isabel Cruz's question.

"And he's taking all the credit!" Cody continued.

Jack's phone began ringing. 

It was Matt.

A smile appeared on his face.

"I gotta take this," Jack said.

Evan nodded.

He turned around and took a few steps away from his friends.

"Hey, Matt," Jack smiled when he answered his phone.

"Hey, man," Matt greeted his best friend.

"What's up?" Jack asked. "Everything o -"

Jack stopped, stunned to see Bailey wearing a weird outfit.

"Jack? You still there, buddy?" Matt asked.

"Y - yeah," Jack said, distracted by Bailey and her new look. "Sorry, it's Bailey."

"What's wrong with her?"

"I don't know," Jack said. "Anyways, you won't believe what is happening."

Jack quickly recounted what happened on the island and what's going on with Zack when he heard Bailey in a strange voice say, "That crown does not belong to you!"

"Yeah," Cody said, "you tell him, baby."

"Hey, um, do you mind if I call you back?" Jack asked Matt.

"Um, yeah, sure," Matt said, confused.

"Alright, later!"

Jack hung up the phone and rushed back to the Sky Deck.
