25 - The Crown of Xaria

Jack attempted to get cell service on the island but was unable to do so. 

"Will you please put your phone down?" Evan requested. 

"Sorry," he said. "I'm just... I little jumpy, I guess."

"We'll be fine," Evan assured him. 

"No matter how many field trips we have and islands we visit, I'm not used to being in a jungle," Jack said.

"Do you think they'll notice we're gone?" Evan wondered.

"I have -" Jack began but was cut off by Marcus who had screamed out of fear.

"What the -" Evan said.

They watched Marcus attempt to wack the spider but unfortunately for Marcus, the spider picked up the stick and began hitting Marcus. Marcus took off, running away from the spider screaming as the spider followed him with a stick.

Evan's mouth was hung open as he watched his friend run away.

"Believe it or not, this is the least surprising thing I ever saw," Jack said.

"Oh, I believe it," Evan said.

After seeing Marcus and the spider, they opted out of going to the bathroom. They then heard Bailey's voice.

Jack figured that she had taken over-explaining Xaria and the history of the island.

"Oh, shit," Jack said. "The class!"

"Let's hide," Evan said.

They hid behind the tree as the class walked past them, not noticing the two of them hiding.

"We should probably follow them," Jack said.

Evan nodded in agreement.

They two rejoined the class, quietly.

They got back to where the other tour guides were at.

"Where are Zack and Cody?" Evan whispered.

"I don't know," Jack admitted, "but they should be here, somewhere."

"And, here we are, boys and girls," Luis said, "back at the burial site and final resting place of Xaria."

"Enough about Xaria," London complained. "When are we gonna get to the spa and shopping court of Xaria?"

Luis chuckled and continued, "Legend has it that Princess Xaria - shh!" he shushed Bailey before she could have the chance to interrupt again. "My turn. Princess Xaria swore to once again rise. Her spirit will not rest until she is wearing her beloved crown."

"Knew that," Bailey said, quietly.

"Heard you," Luis said.

"Whatever."

"Whatever."

Jack gave Bailey a look.

"Bailey, unlike you and your boyfriend, none of us know all this stuff," Jack pointed out.

"Well, you would if you did the reading," Bailey said.

"The reading didn't cover everything that Luis did," Jack said.

"You could've done more research," Bailey said.

"Well, I'm sorry for actually having a social life and making sure I practice basketball for when I get home," Jack said.

"Enough!" Miss. Tutweiller said before anything got out of hand.

Bailey glared at Jack.

Jack and Evan looked at each other as Luis showed class told the class about where they hide the sprinkles control and that they will be climbing up to the tomb of Xaria.

Jack and Evan silently agreed to sneak away from the class, wishing they had not come back to class.

They found Zack and Cody in the forest. 

Zack was mimicking a monkey and said, "Look at me! I'm the king of the jungle!"

He had a crown on his head.

"More like the duke of dimwits," Cody said. 

"Hey, guys," Evan said.

"What's that crown?" Jack wondered.

"It's the crown of Xaria," Cody informed him. "We found it.

"We?" Zack repeated. "I found it, not you."

"Okay," Evan said, confused. 

"Will you take that off?" Cody asked his twin.

"What?" Zack said, loudly. "I can't hear you over all the humming."

"What humming?" Jack asked, not hearing any of the humming that Zack was talking about.

Zack took off the crown.

"Wow," he said. "The crown. It's making some kind of weird noise."

The crown began to visibly vibrate in Zack's hand.

"And it's vibrating," he said. "Is that supposed to happen?"

"I doubt it," Jack said, worriedly.

"Yeah, I don't think it's supposed to vibrate," Evan agreed, equally worried.

"Will you guys goofing around?" Cody said.

"All I'm saying is that it tickles," Zack said.

Zack began to giggle as he placed the vibrating crown on his stomach.

Zack then placed the crown on his twin brother and Cody began to vibrate as well before pushing his brother's hand away from him.

Back on the ship, Zack began to brag to a bunch of girls about finding the crown of Xaria.

Jack and Evan rolled their eyes and shook their heads at their friend, who they knew wanted to impress the girls.

Cody was not happy about it.

Not only was he not thrilled that Zack was the one who technically found the crown, but he was using it to both impress girls as well as attempt to get one to go out on a date with him. 

Zack was also pretending to be smarter than he actually is, which left Jack confused seeing that everyone he was trying to impress were people from their class and know what Zack is like.

Jack and Evan grew board over listening to Zack brag about himself and left the Sky Deck. 

"... this is the best thing that ever happened to me!" Jack and Evan heard Miss. Tutweiller exclaimed happily.

Jack and Evan looked behind them confused.

"What the fuck is that?" Jack asked.

"Wonder what Miss. Tutweiller must be this excited about," Evan said.

"Do you think Luis asked her out?"

"Probably," Evan shrugged as they entered their shared room. "I mean, you saw how she was head over heels for him."

"It would be surprising if Luis was equally interested," Jack said. "He didn't seem that interested in her."

Evan nodded in agreement.

Jack jumped on his bed and Evan sat at his desk.
