I haven't talked to Dib for two weeks.
What he has done was out of order. Despite this, that boy called the orphanage every day, knowing if Zim is still inside. Gaz spied on his brother for me, getting the newest video game for her splendid work. Even Dib's father seem to notice the unusual, weird behaviour, hoping that this will be just a new phase that will pass with time. He asked me what made him even more mad lately, as I mentioned Zim.
"Ah the foreign friend. I haven't seen him lately."
"It's because he had sent him to the orphanage...but why is he calling them every day?"
Professor Membrane thought for a minute, "I think he misses him"
I shook my head at this, "Hardly. He is responsible for this. Speaking of Dib, I have to see if he is already in bed."
"That's my babysitter, always caring for my children"
I sighted, that is my job after all, I must do this. If there was a choice, I would have made him go to bed without dinner. And it seems he was aiming for such a punishment. The moment his door creaked open; my eyes couldn't find this big-headed boy anywhere. His sister hasn't seen him either. It was out of luck, hearing something hitting the trashcans outside. Dib accidentally hid behind them, tripping over his own feet. So, I had some time to follow him through the night, by keeping my distance far enough, not to be spotted.
To my surprise, he stopped at Zim's house.
Gaz is a wonderful spy, otherwise I wouldn't have known such tiny details. But that was not the main problem, as I saw Dib climb into the open window. I couldn't believe what I seen; he becomes a criminal! Having enough of this, I followed and watched him go through the rooms, searching for something. As my responsibility to keep him safe, I had no choice but to get in myself.
"It must be somewhere...maybe he only one entrance...or two?"
Unaware of my presence, I stood behind him, whispering into his ear, "Need some help Dib?"
"No its fine Y/N...Y/N?!""Did you completely lose your mind now?! Breaking in to Zim's house, after you send him to the orphanage?!"
As his shock faded, he got all serious, "Y/N, he is an alien, and he has a base. I prove it to you once I found the entrance...wait!...Computer?!"
The metallic voice made me jump, although he sounded annoyed by Dib, "...what do you want?"
"Show me the base!"
"Denied!"
"Oh, come on!"
Dib noticed that I was close to lose my patience, tapping with one foot. The computer refused him to give him anything he wants, saying that his master is the only one he obeys. For the boy was this not an option, checking out the rest of the house. I growled over to him, "I will give you exactly five minutes, before I drag you out of this place...by your ears." Instead of feeling threatened, he just shrugged, going through the house again.
Sighting loud, I leaned against the wall, right next to the window, "Really, that boy is getting insane. Zim an alien, what is next? Robo dogs?"
"Hello!"
"Huh? Hello" out of the blue, a green dog looked through the window, greeting me with excitement. Once inside, it took off his disguise, revealing a tiny robot.
"...fair enough..."
It climbed on the sofa and switched on the TV. I raised a brow as the show of an angry monkey appeared. Inside I couldn't help but feel disappointed, why couldn't Dib be like that? A few minutes passed, as it tapped with the hand on the seat beside him, "Come and watch with me!" I looked around, since Dib was still looking, I could actually sit and wait for him. Knowing that this robot belongs to Zim, thanks to Gaz, the situation was much easier to handle. It introduced itself as Gir, handing me some nachos and cheese dip. Shrugging, I took the offer, "Say, were you here the whole time?"
"No, I been in a puppy house"
"Puppy house?"
Gir nodded, "There were a looooot of puppies, they were fun."
After listening to the robot, I realised he meant the animal shelter. Considering his dog costume, I wasn't surprised. This cheerful robot was quite nice to talk to, hoping that Dib could learn from this machine, as my patience was running thin. I forgot my own five-minute rule, "Dib, get your butt over here. There is no secret base!"
"There is"
"Huh?"
"There is, come!" interrupted Gir again, stuffing his mouth with nachos.
"What?"
It got even more bizarre when it wants to show me that place, pulling on my arm. Unable to resist the excited robot, I followed without any complains. We got through an entrance under a table and down below the house. The minute it closed, Dib walked past it, "It must be around here. I am sure it was right here."
I was breath taken by the size of the base, "Gir, please don't tell me that Zim is..."
"Chicken!"
"Huh?" he pointed to that animal in a tube.
"Why is he having a chicken in a tube?" it got even more confusing, as the robot pressed a button, sending the poor animal towards the sun. Shocked, my eyes moved towards Gir, "He sure doesn't like chicken...or animals."
"I do!"
"I bet you do" laughing at the cheerful robot, I went back up to the house. Gir held me by the hand, leading me towards the couch again. Dib took the entire kitchen apart. By the time he wanted to rip out the toilet, I had enough, "That is it Dib!"
"Y/N, I am sure now. It's here...I can feel it...AH, ouch, let go Y/N!"
Ignoring his complaints, I grabbed on to his ear and out the door. The robot looked sad as we left, "Why are you doing?"
"Sorry eh...Gir...we have to get this bad boy to bed...and in a straitjacket."
"Awwwwwwwww, don't gooooooo!!!!!!"
The robot didn't like it, as I closed the door slowly. From outside, we could hear it having a tantrum, throwing all sorts of stuff around the room, even smashing a window. At this point, I was glad that Dib wasn't like that.
"So, space boy, up to bed. You have school tomorrow."
