I was told that children are a handful, but Zim was something else.

He was more than that. His shouting, whining and constant arguments with me had no end, even the extra homework time turned to a difficult task. I caught him cheating once. He gave me his biology papers and went towards his base, as I asked him about the organs and their function.

"Just read it" was his reply.

He was so bad, that I could see from which side he printed this off. I also must hear him ramble on about Dib when they had another fight in class. Speaking of Dib, with Zim on my hands, I had to inform Professor Membrane about my new plans. He didn't like it, but he couldn't change the situation. I mean, he supported me to adopt in the first place. So, I decided to work in a fast-food store nearby. I didn't like it, but that was the only job I can get in such short time.

With my work and taking care of Zim and the household I had enough on my plate. I was glad to have Gir there to support me...

"I am a giant pizza!!!!!!"

...or fill my plate entirely.

I took care of two children, why the hell is it so difficult with Zim?!

There's only one thing that I like about that boy, that kept me from sending him back to the orphanage. Beside his terrible behaviour daily, he sneaks into my bedroom and crawled under my bedsheet, cuddling up to my stomach. That is the only time where he is an angel.

"Y/N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And only then.

"What is it now Zim?"

"What is this filth?"

I shrugged, "I don't know...looks like spaghetti"

"What am I supposed to do with these long dead worms?"

The green boy poked into them with his fork.

"Eat it"

As usual, it was another meal for Gir when I turned my back to him. When he was in school, I had to go to work. Our relationship wasn't exactly, harmonious and friendly, but I try my best to get along with him.

Zim took these opportunities in school to find plans to destroy the earth. Dib however, took every chance to interrupt his train of thoughts, "How is Y/N, Zim?"

"You ask me that every day.... the human is fine."

"Did you experiment on her?"

The irken hated it when I became the topic. He already hates it that I live in his house and won't be able to leave, so Zim doesn't want to be annoyed with these stupid questions. His plan to dispose of me became one of his main priorities, besides destroying the earth, "I might."

Thankfully I don't have to come to school every day, but today was one of those faithful ones. Zim and Dib took it too far today, having a fight on school grounds. Ms. Bitters ordered me in, her expression made it clear, she was annoyed by this constant situation repeating itself, "Miss Y/N, this is the fourth time that this happened. If you can't raise a child properly, then send it back to the orphanage."

"Ms. Bitters, I know Zim is a...difficult...child. He just needs some time to adjust to this new life with a real mother."

"You had him for one month already"

He is already the odd one in class, besides Dib, but never too troubling to call the parents in. Dib's father came in too, to my surprise. We agreed on giving the boys some time together outside of school. Professor Membrane and I should keep an eye on them at that time. I didn't find it wise, but it was better than calling the child services.

Spending time with Dib's father isn't something I would call a 'pleasant moment'. It was more the opposite. I don't understand him when he talks about science or tries to say something important with Scientific studies. I didn't look forward to that day. Thankfully I could skip our last meeting with each other.

Back at home, I fell face first into the couch.

My boss is already mad at me for taking off work because of Zim's mischief. Gir noticed how I took all space of the couch, getting all whiny, "...my couch..." with his high pitches sound, I got up and into the bathroom. Unaware that Zim had something important to do in the living room.

"Computer!"

"Yes Master!"

"Call the almighty tallest. I haven't spoken to them in a month...they must be sick with worry."

Far away from earth, the irken armada was on to destroy all planets in their path. To hear that Zim is calling made the almighty tallest moan out with frustration. He assumed that he already dies or something similar, that they finally had their piece with this disaster of an irken. But no, he is still alive...and smiling.

"I am sorry for calling in so late, I am ready to make my report"

The almighty red stopped him, "Zim, we don't need it."

The almighty purple agreed, "Can't you report when you...I don't know...died or something?"

"You will be pleased to hear this; I can assure you. I captured a human slave, a tall one!"

That caught their attention. The almighty red's eyes widened, "Tall...is it dumb?"

Zim thought for a minute, "Well...not as dumb as other humans...but not smart either. So, what do you ...eh...excuse me my tallest..." he forgot that his latest experiment was not in his cage and kept walking around the house? The irken didn't want to explain this to me when I see this happy human kid.

Still unaware, I walked into the living room, calling for Gir, "You hungry sweetie?"

He nodded sweet, "And Zim?"

The robot shook his head, "Not here"

"Okay, he can reheat his in the microwave. What would you like today?"

His smile only grew, as he whispered in a tune, "taco, taco, tacoooo"

"Again?" I thought for a minute, starring to the television. There stood two aliens in red and purple suits, holding food in their hands, "yes, how about doughnuts? I know this isn't healthy but today was just awful, we need something sweet."

"YAY Doughnuts!!!!!" Ok, that's sorted.

"We can watch this science fiction movie later"

The almighty red looked confused to purple, "Science..."

"...fiction?" added the other. Then, all of a sudden, he turned sad, "I want some doughnuts too"
