Chapter 7 | Treasure, That is What You Are

Your eyes open widely as you awake, roaming them around the dim room you are in while you try to recall what happened and where you are. 

You heard a faint moan as something in the bed moves. Your attention is drawn next to you, you see Wilhemina sleeping beside you then a recap of yesterday's events flashes on your mind.

What the fuck did I do?

Your hand slowly lifts the blanket and you move your way out of the bed without waking Venable up. You get on all four to crawl and try to feel your clothes on the floor.

Another groan escapes her mouth and you stop yourself from moving, even breathing. After that, you wear your sweatpants on but you weren't able to retrieve your shirt so you just put on your jacket. You didn't close the zipper yet because that might alarm her up.

You take a step after another, carefully not making any noise. Till you reach the door, opening it gradually before stepping out and shutting it close.

A sigh of relief comes out of your mouth. You drag your feet down the hall and look for the stairs. Your feet send you down to another hallway and you saw a maid pass by so you go after her to ask for the exit.

"Hey!" Whispering loudly and she turns around to stop walking. You pace in front of her and it's the adorable maid from yesterday. "Have you seen my bag? Do you know where the exit is?"

She shyly stands in front of you while she plays with her fingers. "Yes, ma'am. Just follow me." She avoided eye contact as her eyes are darted on the floor.

You follow her back to the living room. Your bag is resting on the sofa so she handed it to you. "Thank you, don't tell your boss that you saw me sneaking out." You grab her arm and give him a wink.

She shows a shy smile as she nods and unlocks the huge front door "What's your name?" You cease before stepping out.

"My name is Mary, ma'am." Still avoiding eye contact.

You grab her chin with your fingers before tilting her head back up "Well, thank you once again, Mary." Then you leave to hurry in front of the gate.

The guard unlocks it while you're pacing towards him "Thank you, sir. Please don't tell Wilhemina that I sneak out." He nods then pulls the gate open.

Your ninja is still there so you put on your helmet, look for your eyeglasses to wear, and zip your jacket up. It's freezing because it's like three or four in the morning. You pull out the keys from your bag and ride on.

You drive your way out of there and try to find the way to your house. Minutes of driving, you finally arrived so you park your bike in the small space next to your house.

You unlock your house then enter. Throwing yourself on your wide sofa before falling asleep.

Your phone rings and it wakes you up. Groaning in irritation as you lift your head and look for it. You fall to your cream fluffy rug when you're reaching your bag.

Rummaging inside to get your phone and answer Bette's call "Bette?" You half-asleep call her name.

"Where were you last night? Vince said that you didn't show up." She worriedly asks from the other end of the line.

"I uhh... I went home. I was tired so I took a rest" You get on your feet with a slight groan as you can't your heavy body up "Sorry for not telling."

"How do you feel right now? Do you want us to come over?"

You pace to your kitchen to drink water, your throat is dry from the lies you're sputtering. "No, I'm fine. Thank you." You pour water on your glass then take the whole amount.
