Chapter 29 | I. F. L. Y

It's been a week since you're in a relationship with Lana. It's been seven days long yet you still can't believe things as if they are too impossible to happen.

Now, you're on your way to her house because you're planning on having lunch and spending the rest of your afternoon with her. She told you that she has good news to tell you but she made you stop by a convenience store first to buy some snacks. Aside from the snacks, you also bought nuggets and fries when you drive through a fast-food restaurant. 

You saw her standing on her front porch when you're getting near in front of her house. Lana's carrying a basket while she's dressed in a cute white and red polka dot dress. As she notices your car, she strides down her porch and headed near your vehicle.

It looks like you're going somewhere so you get out of the car and rush to the passenger side to open the door. "Hey, honey." Your girlfriend holds your shoulder as she leans in to kiss you lightly before entering your car.

Her simple gesture never fails to make you smile like a drunken fool. After you close the door, you get in as well. "Are we going to have a picnic?" You take the basket as a hint. 

"Mhmm, the weather is pleasant so I think it's nice to have a picnic date." She nods her head while she grabs the latch plate of the seatbelt. When she's done putting on her seatbelt, you start the engine once again before you head to the nicest park in your city.

After twenty minutes of driving, you arrived at a park with a wide field that is good for picnics. Lana finds a spot below a tree so she pulls a green plaid blanket out of the basket then places it nicely over the neatly grown grass. 

You sit over the blanket and start to remove everything from the paper bag you're holding. "I also bought some nuggets and fries. I was thinking that maybe you're not having lunch yet." Lana settles down beside you then she opens her basket and pulls out everything inside.

"It's alright and you're right, I'm not yet having lunch." You helped her on placing the food in order. It looks like she prepared sandwiches and fruits to binged in. "Let's eat!" 

You grab a slice of sandwich that she made and you take a bite "So, what's the great news?" Then chew on it while you ask the question. 

She can't contain her excitement when you ask her that. "Well, I got hired!" Your girl leaps on you to hug you ecstatically and that almost made you fall back but you manage to keep your balance while you're sitting down.

You're very happy with her success as you hug her back while you eat your sandwich. "Congratulations, babe. I know you'll get in because if you don't then they just make their biggest mistake of not hiring you." Joking as you finish your last bite. "When will you start?"

Lana sits back again and grabs a piece of a chicken nugget. "Thank you, dearest. I'll start next week, Monday." Then put it in her mouth to eat after answering your query.

"Let me know what time so I know when to pick you up." Your hand reaches for the bottle of water then you open the cap to take a drink.

She let herself finish chewing first before she speaks. "You don't have to do that because you have to work too." Her hand nestles on yours to grab your attention as she sincerely vocal out her words. 

"It's fine, I gotta support my girl. My boss will be back in a few days so I'll do it while I still can."

The two of you chatted for a while as you eat everything. She told you about her work, on how she wants to progress and be a writer of her own book someday. Then you told her about your passion for music, about how you want to earn money to have your own music studio, and then you'll record your music there.
