Chapter 24 | The Sweet Escape

It's been days since the incident with Diane happened. You refuse to join Wilhemina at every meal but Lilia brings you food secretly when your owner leaves so you can still eat something. Furthermore, when your mistress is out, you take that time to go out and explore the whole villa.

Since the first day you got here, you're also worried about your puppy but good thing that Jerry has been taking care of her when he found out about the recent events. You had a little chat with Jerry about why you can't keep Covyn, he said that Wilhemina wants to dispose of her because she's too loud. Also, whenever your owner pays you a visit, you pretend to be asleep so you don't have to deal with her and her anger as you know punishment awaits you.

Now, you just finished taking a bath and you just stepped out of the bathroom. You see a maid placing clothes on your bed. It piques your attention so you take a step closer while drying your hair with a towel. 

"What's this?" You pick it up and see a maid dress. Without hesitation, you throw it back to your bed and glare at the maid. "No, no. I'm not gonna wear that." Shaking your head while your voice goes higher. 

"And why not?" Wilhemina's voice drove your attention to her direction, at the threshold of the room's entrance. She taps her cane twice and the servant bows her head before leaving the two of you alone.

Your eyebrows are pulled together in irritation as you know to yourself that you don't wear dresses. "Because I'm not a fucking maid." Raising your voice as you talk back to your mistress. 

"Don't talk back to me like that." Wilhemina advances towards you, closer and closer she goes as your heart starts to beat rapidly while knowing you still have done something that didn't impress her. "You are now, whether you like it or not.  Wear that and dust my office off." Her feet stop as she is inches away from you, leering over you as dictating her words dourly. "I'm still not happy after what you've done."

Before you can get to speak, she turns around to leave. Sighing to yourself but you think that she won't know that you did or did not wear that dress so you march to your walk-in closet to find nothing but your pajamas. All of your day clothing is gone.

Even if you know that Venable will get mad, you refuse to wear the dress but wear your pajamas instead. You remain stubborn and ignore her orders about being a maid. Good thing that she's busy with something so she doesn't notice you as much.

Then one week later as you are strolling around the villa and Wilhemina is away, you go to the garage to play with Covyn. Jerry is there as well so you have a conversation with him.

"I had a little chitchat with the other drivers and they said that Wilhemina's temper never goes down since that dilemma of yours happened. Aren't you putting water over the fire yet?" Jerry jokes while wiping off the hood of the car.

You're stroking your pup's head as you are crouching down but looking up at him "I think I'm putting gasoline instead of water, that's why it's still burning." Throwing back the joke on him. "She's making me wear a maid's dress for goddamn sake." Sighing as you added.

The old man let out a chuckle and shake his head "You know, you could try to be sweet and kind to her for once. Maybe she'll calm down and lift up your punishment." 

As you're about to open your mouth to protest, you heard the front gates opened and it's enough to conclude that your owner is here. You sprint your way back to your room without her noticing. The doors aren't locked since the day she ordered you to be a maid, maybe she thought that you're really doing your job. 

Thinking about what Jerry told you, you have no choice but to do it because he's right. You're thinking that maybe if you try to be sweet and if you obey her she'll let you out of the house.
