His brother is talking with the doctor, previously asking him to go ahead and find the room. And this is the moment, a really nerve-wracking one if he must say. But he successfully maintains his composure, sliding the door carefully. There, in the corner of the room, is his mother helplessly lying on the hospital bed.

After closing the door, he warily approaches, releasing nervous air when he finds the woman is peacefully sleeping. As much as he wants to see her awake, he's not sure if his presence will be welcomed. After all, the last time he met her, she asked him with a not so motherly way to not see her or her family ever again.

Oh how he wants to smile, so so wide now since the person he hates the most in this world is suffering. However, he doesn't; he just can't. There is not even a sheer satisfying feeling he feels at the moment. If anything, his hand slowly moves to his mother's face, removing bunch of silver hair covering it gently.

But he retracts his hand instinctively when he hears the door slides.

"What did the doctor say?"

A weak frustrated sigh escapes Jeongin's mouth. "The surgery went well... But since she got a severe brain injury for the second time.. not to mention the blood loss, it may take a while for her to gain consciousness."

Moving the chair closer to the bed, the younger takes his mother's hand, peppering the back of it with light kisses. Tears streams down his cheeks seconds later, wetting the slight cold hand and the hospital bed sheet. At that, Hyunjin moves another chair next to his brother.

"Hyung?"

"Hm?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Mm. Anything."

Taking a deep breath, he looks at his brother's eyes. Hyunjin can see the nervous look on the younger's facial expression, so he throws a reassuring smile, hoping it will help him even a little.

"Do you hate her?"
