But I was afraid he would hurt you even more if I don't follow his order. It'll be better if he physically abuses me and not you or Jeongin."

"Mom, please. You have me now. I'll do anything to protect you. So please. Don't ever think that way again. Can you promise me that?"

"I can't."

She pulls out of the hug and places her palms on her son's face. "I don't know what will happen once I discharge from the hospital. So instead, can you promise me to protect your baby brother for me?"
