Chapter 2: Chase Jackson

"You think the girls are at their dorms?" Gabe UNC's best shooting guard ask

"I hope. I want pizza." I tell him.

Loren and Nicole are roommates. Gabe and Nicole grew up in the same subdivision in Charlotte. So they've been best friends since they were children. Loren and Nicole are best friends, they met last year. So Loren became apart of the group. I've been best friends with Hayden since pre-k we grew up in Raleigh together. And Ethan is from South Carolina and became our friend when we all joined the team.

I met Ethan. Hayden and I met Gabe, then Gabe introduced us to Nicole, and then Nicole introduced us to Loren. So then we became a group. Hayden has a thing for Loren but isn't sure if she feels the same way. Even if they did feel the same she would never go for him. He's a player. A heartbreaker. A one night stand kinda guy.

So anytime we all go out I feel like a spare tire on a car.

Ethan doesn't go out with us. He has a girl in Cary. Cary is 30 minutes from Chapel Hill so he spends his time with her. His girl attends William Peace University for Criminology. She wants to be a Clinical Social Worker. Raleigh to Chapel Hill is about 47 minutes. Chapel Hill to Cary is 30 minutes and Cary to Raleigh is 15 minutes. So they meet in Cary were her parents live and spend time together.

You know the two front tires are Gabe and Nicole. The back tires are Hayden and Loren.
Then there me hangout under the car. By myself.

I could get any girl I want. It's not like I have no game. I basically have girls worshiping me as I walk across the campus.

It's just I'm waiting for the girl who doesn't worship me. Who doesn't look when I enter a room. That's hard to find when your father is famous, you're family is rich, and you're campus royalty.

I'm waiting for the Joey to my Pacey.

We get to the girls dorm and knock. Loren answers.
"We're out of pizza if that's what your here for." She tells us letting us walk in.

"We can't want to visit our favorite people on campus?" Hayden ask

"We are not y'all's favorites. Kelley, Teagan, and Sabrina, and Gracie are."

"Kelley?"
"Teagan?"
"Sabrina?"
We all say the girls names of whom we hate.
"Gracie is my favorite!" Ethan speaks up over us. He's so whipped and in love.

"Yes. We know they're are y'all favorites! Don't play games!" Nicole says as she rounds the corner from the empty extra room in their dorm.

While the guys are defending themselves against the crazy accusations, I notice a blonde who's about four feet taller follow Nicole in the room. They both came out of the third room in there dorm. The third room is where we sleep when we're too drunk to go to the basketball house.

Is Nicole lesbian? Because the tall girl who just walked out of the room has her hair in a messy bun and is in Nike pros with Nicole's UNC hoodie on. Did they just do the dirty in our room? The guys room. Eww. I'm so grossed out. I never want to sleep in their again.

"Nicole!" Ethan screams out. She jumps and the other guys finally notice a blonde in the room.

"Since when do you swing that way?" Ethan ask with so much shock in his voice. Nicole who was taking a sip of water practically chokes on it. Loren starts beating her back.

"Your lesbian!?" Gabe yells at her confused.

"I would be shocked to Gabe. I mean y'all grow up on the same street. How did you not get the signs." Hayden tells Gabe giving him a sympathetic look. We all know Gabe is in love with Nicole.

"Guys! I'm not lesbian!" She finally speaks. "I'm very much into men!" She starts defending herself.

"Then who is this?" I ask pointing to the blonde.

"Oh, hi I'm Taylor." The blonde says.

"She's our new roommate. So none of y'all can get drunk and spend the night in the extra room because someone has moved into it." Loren tells us.

"Where'd you transfer from?" Hayden asked.

"The University of Kentucky."

"Why'd you transfer?" Ethan asked.

"Atmosphere change."

I'm about to ask a question but she starts talking. "What time is it?"

"4:30." I answer

"Well I would say it's nice meeting y'all but I don't know y'all's name. I have somewhere I have to be. So I'll be back later."

She says as she walks to her room. The guys start whispering things to Loren and Nicole asking question.

She then walks back in the kitchen. Her hair is even more messier and she changed her hoodie to a shirt that looks like it's on crooked.

"Do I look like a mess?" She ask everyone in the room.

"You look like you just got fucked." I tell and Loren gives me a look but to Loren's shock she loved my answer.

"Perfect." She says.

"Are you trying to make someone jealous?" Gabe asked her.

"No. I'm trying to look like a screw up."

"Well you did a perfect job." Ethan tells her.

She says bye and then walks out the door.

"What's up with her?" Hayden states the obvious question we all have.

"I don't know. I looked her up on social media she has more followers than Chase." Loren tells us.

"Not possible!" I state. "I have the most followers at this school."

Loren pulls out her phone and starts typing. She hands me her phone. I take out my phone and I search her up. She has a blue check mark. @TaylorRae

"Her last post was from April. That's almost a year ago." Nicole says while looking at her friend. Her last post was a year ago. I post every other day and she still has more followers than me.

"What happened that made her leave?" Loren ask looking up from her phone.

"I don't know but I'm not gonna snooping. We want her to be our friend so we need to be respectful of her past." Nicole tells us.

"I just want to know why she wanted to look like screw up?" I tell everybody.

"Maybe she's going to see an ex." Hayden states.

"You think she would want to look like a screw up to see her ex." Loren tells him.

"Maybe she's trying to get sympathy." I say defending Hayden answer.
