Liane's POV
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. My knee bounces up and down while I sit in my chair, staring at the clock on the wall. Why can't it just be 2:00 yet? I'm very impatient right now, I'm not paying attention to anything but the hands on the clock, ticking their way very slowly toward the two and twelve.Riker taps me on the shoulder. I look back at him and he wears a smirk on his face. "I see you can't wait to get some of this tonight," he whispers, gesturing to his very sexy body.
I just roll my eyes. Though his statement is true. I can't wait to finally admit my feelings to him.
"Calm down. It's only a few hours away," he continues, sitting back in his chair.
I nod and face forward again, still bouncing my knee. I hear Riker chuckle which makes me giggle a little. Finally, the dismissal bell rings, cutting the teacher off. Once it sounds, everyone in the room quickly stands and rushes out the room to go and get ready for the dance.
I stay behind with Riker even though I'm way too excited to move slowly. It seems that's what Riker wants to do. So I'm going to deal with it.
"You can go ahead if you want," he says, looking forward once we're out of the classroom.
But I don't go ahead. I follow his line of sight to where he is staring where I see another girl. Most likely the one he likes. She catches him looking at her and smiles, walking closer to us.
"Hey Riker," she says, taking his hand and smiles up at him. She's a shorty. She's a sophomore. I've seen her before. I don't remember her name though. Why is she moving so close to Riker?
"Good afternoon, Justine," he smiles back.
Then out of nowhere this Justine girl kisses him very passionately. Right in front of me. My mouth falls open in surprise and I stand there frozen, dumbfounded. He is kissing another girl in front of me when we have a date thing going on later tonight. Wow.
Riker pulls away from her quickly. Thank God. I was getting a little uncomfortable.
"Justine," he whispers in her ear, but I can still hear. "No PDA."
The girl frowns for a moment but nods anyways. I raise an eyebrow. Slut much? Then she looks past Riker at me as if I just appeared a second ago. Her frown deepens, which causes me to frown.
"Who's this?" She asks, staring at me.
"I'm Liane," I stick out my hand for her to shake, putting on a sarcastic smile. "I'm go-"
"She's my friend," Riker interrupts me, preventing my explanation that I'm going to the dance with him tonight. "The one you saw me with last week."
Justine nods and finally being polite enough, shakes my hand. "Nice to properly meet you," she says to me then turns back to Riker. "I've gotta go now. Have fun rehearsing tonight." She smiles.
"Okay, see you tomorrow," he replies, returning the smile. Once she's gone, it disappears and he quickly turns to me. "I'm so sorry about that," he apologizes. "I didn't know that'd happen."
"It's okay," I nod. After a quick pause I say, "You know what? I uh, I've gotta get going too. See you later."
And I quickly walk away, hugging my books, looking down. Since when did he have a girlfriend?
Riker's POV
I was in panic mode when Justine kissed me in front of Liane. Even though I really wanted that kiss to continue, that wouldn't be acceptable. Liane and I are going to the dance together for God's sake. I can't be kissing another girl right in front of her. She would think I'm dating her. (I know I am but I don't want Liane knowing that.) So I told Justine no PDA. I don't want any PDA for two reasons: because people already think I'm with Liane and I don't need more people thinking I'm a cheater. And, I don't need hate going towards my girlfriend from the R5 fans. Liane or Justine. Whichever one I truly am dating...
