Riker's POV
"Who wants some skittles?" Rocky asks the girls leaving the meet and greet, taking out a bag of the candy from his pocket.A few of them agree to take some and he pours a little bit in each of their mouths, just a few dropping to the ground.
"Thanks for coming out," he grins at them so amused by what just happened.
"Come on Rocky. We have to keep things going," Andre rushes him back over in front of the backdrop where another young lady patiently waits for her hug from him.
Every person coming through to meet us in person and get a picture all have grins from ear to ear. Some of them are so star struck (which I can't believe anyone would be to see me) they can't talk, others are completely chill, and just a few shed tears from happiness. I am completely clueless on what to do when one is crying. Thankfully not too many of them do.
But I can't help but think, these people coming to meet us, who spent money just for a picture, are just so happy. They're having so much fun. They're excited for the best night of their lives. Because of me. And the band. But my being here right now and doing this, is not making the one girl most important to me having the time of her life like she would be if I weren't here.
It's been agonizing not be able to see her everyday. I hate that I can't hear her beautiful voice rambling about some random thing like she always does. I'm lonely because I can't cuddle or hug or kiss my girl. I can't stand that I have to be away from her now. It's the number one downside of being on tour; next to not sleeping in my own bed. Yes, Justine and I text and FaceTime but it doesn't always work out because of how hectic and tiring this tour is. It'd just be better if she were here on tour. With me.
But I still go along. It's my job. I'm still happy with it. The meet and greet doesn't last much longer after. We finish posing with two nice girls and Andre informs us there's only one girl left and we can move on to sound check.
I presume to continue my little conversation I've been having with Ross when my words get stuck in my throat. Ross furrows his eyebrows and puts his attention to where I'm staring and smiles widely.
"Took you long enough," Rocky blurts out, giving a hug to the next girl in line. She makes her way down the line and gives short hugs to Ellington, Rydel, and Ross (just because she can). When she approaches me, I don't receive a simple hug, but a kiss.
I'm not complaining.
I can't help but smile and kiss her back eagerly.
"Yeah. Yeah, okay gross guys. People are waiting," Ross pulls us apart.
"What are you doing here?" I grin, looking down at her.
"To surprise you, silly," Justine pokes my stomach and I laugh. I am just so happy. "Let's get this meet and greet over with. I wanna see you perform."
I nod and engulf her in a huge embrace smiling at the camera, not paying attention to how the others are posing. The picture is taken and we pull away from the hug. Justine gives me one more kiss before going ahead to take a seat before sound check starts.
The band plays a few small covers and in between we chat with the fans there. Rocky runs out of skittles but takes out a pack of gum to hand out to whoever wanted a piece. Surprisingly, most of the pack was still there.
"Jesus, if I took this out during history class, or any class for that matter," he starts, "it would've been gone in seconds."
"Would it make you feel better if I took a piece, Rocky?" Justine asks taking a step toward him. "Because if I'd asked at school you'd be guarding that pack of gum with your life."
I can't help but laugh. I swing my arm around her shoulder and drive her away from my brother after she gets her piece of gum. I'm in the mood for some alone time.
"Hi Riker!" A girl jumps in front of my trail. She smiles up at me and holds up her iPod. "Could I get a picture with you and Justine?"
Oh yeah, sure," I smile and look at my girlfriend. "Do you mind?" She shakes her head and we smile at the girl's camera.
"Thank you!" She squeaks a little. She puts her attention on Justine. "You're so lucky. I wish I was you because you're so pretty and nice and everyone loves you." Her eyes sparkle with admiration.
"Oh, well, I don't know about everyone," Justine blushes. "But thank you. You're really pretty too."
Her smile grows and gives us another hug before walking off to talk to Rydel.
"You're really popular tonight," I speak up when we're finally standing away from everyone else.
"Not as popular as you, mister," she hits my chest then leans into it. I wrap my arms around her, trying to remember the feeling of her body's warmth up against mine. I don't want to forget this because I know this night is eventually gonna end and she'll have to go back home.
"I wish you could stay the rest of the tour at least," I whisper quietly.
Justine lifts her head to face me. "Me too," she replies after a few moments of just staring at me. "But sadly I can't do that. Unlike you, I'm not allowed to skip the rest of the school year."
My response: a nice long tired sigh.
Silence comes over the two of us. And all that is heard is the chatter of the fans with the rest of the band. About five more minutes pass and Andre is telling us to wrap up our conversations. We walk back over to everyone else and give hugs to anyone else that asks for them. And then I follow Rocky, Ellington, Ross, and, Rydel through the door to back stage where the dressing room is.
I hold Justine's hand loosely, making her follow in my tracks. Once in the room I sit on one of the chairs and pull Justine into my lap. She laughs and repositions herself so she's facing me.
"Hello there," she smiles down at me.
"Hi cutie," I reply. She leans down and gives me a kiss.
"Get a room," Ryland groans.
"Ryland!" Rydel screeches, reacting to his inappropriate remark.
"What?" He asks defensively. "Tell me you don't agree."
Rydel just rolls her eyes, not answering. I just ignore him all together. I'm going to enjoy the time I have with Justine before I have to go on stage and she has to go back home. And I will make sure that I won't take my eyes off of her until it comes to that.
A/N oh no here we go, hear your voice on the radio like every single song is about you! Forget About You, I remember, was my first favorite R5 song. It's still in the top 3 actually. Ugh I love R5 so much. The picture attached is Riker and Rocky from one of my first m&g poses. ASFGHJKL so cute.
So this is it! The last chapter everyone! It's not even that good of an ending. :/ Still sad to see it go. But there is an epilogue so check that out too.
I really hope you enjoyed reading this book as much as I did writing it. :)
