Riker's POV
After Justine went into her house I drove to my own home. Though I was smiling like an idiot the whole way. I don't really know if I should be happy. All I know is that she knows I like her. Or has an idea that I do. The problem is that I don't know if she likes me back. She didn't tell me.

I park the car and grab my bag, going inside. My brother, Rocky, meets me at the door.

"So who did I see you with you earlier?" He asks.

"None of your business." I step past him and go up to our bedroom.

"It looked to me she was Justine from history class? Hm. Why is a senior going for a mere sophomore?"

"Shut up Rocky," I say putting my bag down and turning to him.

"Dude, seniors aren't supposed to like the girls in my grade."

"And you can like the girls in mine?" I question.

"What can I say? They're hot," he shrugs.

I roll my eyes and go back downstairs to greet my mom in the kitchen.

"Hey Riker. How was your day today?" She says looking at me.

"Hi Mom. My day was good." I hug her and then get a water bottle from the refrigerator.

"Riker was flirting with a girl," Rocky says as if it will get me in trouble.

"Will you just drop that subject already?" I pull his beanie over his face.

"No," he says putting the hat back on top of his head. "Because it's not fair." I look at him, my expression asking him why. "Because she looked as if she didn't mind. Whenever I try to flirt she just walks away," he explains.

"Well you're wrong. She walked away multiple times, Rocky."

"Oh."

"Okay, boys. Enough about girls. Go do your homework," Mom says leading us out of the kitchen.

We both go upstairs. I sit on my bed taking and opening my heavy backpack. I look in to see my books begging to be opened and used. Ugh. I hate homework. I'm glad I will be done with school after this year. Then I will pursue my dream of acting and music. That is the real reason we are now living in L.A.

"You're spacing out again."

"Huh?"

"You are staring," Rocky repeats from where he is at his side of the room.

"Oh. I was just thinking about how much I hate homework and would rather be writing a song," I explain.

He nods. "I hate it too. Maybe we can write one after."

"Yeah good idea."

My brother smiles and turns back to his work, obviously excited to write a song with me later.

Justine's POV
I step into my room, throw my bag in the corner and immediately take out my phone to text Hannah and McKayla on our group convo.

Me: Guess what just happened?

Right away I see Hannah is typing. The message pops up on my screen:

Hannah: What?
McKayla: Spill.
Me: Okay so my mom forgot to get me from school today, again.
McKayla: that's nothing new.
Me: So guess who drove me home instead!
McKayla: Who!?
Me: Riker Lynch
Hannah: Shut up! No way!
Me: Yeah. Come over and get the details?
Hannah: Be there in a few!
McKayla: What Hannah said
