Me and the others stare at the corpse in the pool. The body is bloated from drowning, and his skin is blue... Our leader, Austin, is dead. I see Jacob freeze at the sight of the body. Jacob and Austin were never close, why is he so upset?
"M-my best friend... No..." Charlie falls on the floor crying his heart out. Charlie might get himself killed soon, being so vulnerable. Not like I should feel bad. I've had trouble expressing myself ever since what Roee did, and the crash...
"Ah, good morning everybody! I see you have found today's present that the murderer left for you! This present is known as Austin, who was drowned in the pool. Funny how he acted like such a leader, when he was really a survivor. Oh, what's this? The investigator accused Austin last night, but since he is dead, that leaves us with no accusation. What a shame!"
Without an accusation, we don't have anybody to take the role of a scapegoat. I know that's what almost all of the others are looking for, somebody to blame for their endless suffering. If only it could really work that way. However, we're all corrupt, so we clearly don't feel like thinking logically. But this time, we thankfully have the chance to think for ourselves.
''Ah... it breaks my heart that I knew this would happen, yet I could not do anything to prevent it." We all look over at Marley. ''The cards told me that we would lose an important asset tonight, and I suspected Austin would be the victim, but since I am not the medic, I failed to stop this tragedy.''
William raises an eyebrow. ''Well, do your cards tell us who the murderer is? They could be really useful right now!'' Marley just shakes her head. I'm assuming that by that reaction, the answer is no. Shame on us for getting too excited.
''Unfortunately, the cards only tell me when the lights will go out, and they haven't given me any hints regarding any of us besides the one I've gotten so far.'' Tragedy. The others all look nervous. Who do they want to blame?
''IT'S JOHN! I TELL YOU JOHN DID IT! HE'S THE MURDERER PLEASE!'' Lukey is still screaming. They honestly act like a whiny little child who's parents told them they couldn't have the extremely expensive toy at the local Walmart.
''Lukey, please. I think John is suspicious, but we should try to gather evidence." Kai holds Lukey in their arms, comforting them. I'm impressed they put up with Lukey's bullshit all the time.
I suddenly hear a shout. ''Guys! There's some brown hair over here. Maybe it is John after all! We should vote him out!'' Nick alerts us to evidence. I see Jacob turn away, but something tells me he is innocent.
''Hold on here. John's hair is a lighter shade than this piece of hair. It probably belongs to somebody else.'' Jane inspects the hair thoroughly. She and Marley are both smart, but they could die soon if the murderer sees them as a threat.
''So this belongs to Albert, Alec, Cody, Colleen, Dan, Danielle, Elizabeth, Indah, Jacob, Jordan, Mateo, Matt, Mila, Odette, Riley, Sabrina, Spencer or Veronica. Who could it be?'' That's a very good observation by Eva there.
Natalia butts in. ''Uh, what about that dumbass baby Nave over there? Why not suspect him?'' Nave whimpers and buries himself in Jo's arms. Why is Natalia so rude to everybody? She surely isn't surviving this.
''Fu- Screw off Natalia. My brother and cousin are innocent. They're both still in elementary school for god's sake! They can't kill people!'' Jo corrects her curse word. She doesn't want to swear when Nave is nearby, I guess.
''Ha! You're too much of a wuss to curse around that bitch! Why don't we just execute him, even if he isn't the killer? He won't help us win.'' Natalia is taking it way too far here. However, I feel the same way about Lukey, so it's fine.
''I really wish I could vote you out, but you don't have brown hair... ugh... I guess I just vote Colleen or whatever, I don't know.'' Jamila facepalms. We all seem to be at a loss here, not knowing who we should vote. But at the worst time, we hear a familiar noise.
''Now isn't this exciting? It is time for us all to vote! Vote, and your soul shall be forever saved!'' This voice is so creepy at times. Anyways, I think Veronica is acting different nowadays, so I vote for her. Don't think it'll make a difference.
"Welp. I guess one sentence by Jamila turned out to affect the vote! Because if she didn't say what she said, Colleen probably wouldn't have had the most votes." Colleen looks at us in shock. ''Well, too bad, you just executed another survivor.''
Colleen storms off into the execution room. We look through the glass, and see a sign saying ''You can't save yourself, but your actions can affect whether somebody else lives or dies.'' I see a large vat of water in the corner, and a funnel in the other. I see Colleen realize what she needs to do, and she looks determined as ever as she takes a bucket and gets as much water as possible. She walks quickly but gracefully across the room, making sure she doesn't spill anything.
She pours the entire bucket into the funnel. She runs back, but when she begins to go with her next bucket, a spike appears on the floor. She doesn't notice it, and steps onto it. Thankfully she quickly pulls back, some water spilling everywhere, but since she doesn't have shoes, there is some blood spilling onto the floor, mixing with the water.
She pours the second bucket, and comes back. I see that two more spikes have appeared, moving up and down rhythmically. She manages to pour her third and fourth bucket easily, but she trips while going back for her next, and the spike cuts into her elbow. It's too painful to move, so she accepts that that arm is useless and using her remaining one to get more water. After pouring her fifth bucket, green lights flash and she sighs with relief. She just saved somebody else's life.
She steps back, but suddenly, she slips on the spilled water and blood mixture, and falls backwards. She falls right onto another spike, which impales her neck, sending blood everywhere. She is clearly still alive for a few moments, and I hear multiple people running to the bathrooms to puke. Anyhoo... what now?
