Was that... Ezra screaming? This can't be good at all. They're being attacked by the murderer, I bet! I got to help them... No, I absolutely NEED to help them! I can't let them down... It'll be my fault for telling everybody about our alibi. I'm such a dissapointment...
''EZRA, IM COMING! DON'T DIE!'' I screamed as I slammed open the door to my room, rushing down the hall. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no... Please be alive, please... What will I do with you dead?
I heard Ezra shriek again. ''MIKAH! HELP MEEEE!'' I felt out of breath, but I continued running down. I can make it, I can make it! I'll get there and rescue them! I hear two people running into one of the rooms in my hall. I still haven't made it to the stairway yet? Why does the hall feel so long in a situation like this?
I finally make it to the stairs. I stumble a little bit, and I tumble down. My arm hurts, but I'm fine. But then I stop and think for a few seconds. Is that what happened to Nave that night? Did he simply slip a little bit, to fall and break his neck at the bottom?
Was Nave's demise what prompted Cactus to attempt escaping the building, and die doing so? And, if so... Does that mean it caused what happened to Jo? And didn't her death cause Jojo to become a bit isolated, making the murderer kill Jordan to put suspicion on Jackson? Is that really how much damage a simple mistake can do?
I don't want to think about it any more, so I keep going down the flights of stairs that feel like they'll never end. Ezra can't be dead... right? That won't happen... No... I won't let the murderer do this! I must make it down there and see them alive. I won't see a dead body, I promise I won't...
After what feels like an eternity, the lights finally come on again, and I find Ezra with a bandage around their chest. Panicked, I lean in quickly, and I can hear their breathing. They're alive! I see them weakly open their eyes. I know it's a bit rude, but I can't help but quickly ask questions.
''Ezra! Thank god you're okay. Who did this to you?''
''I don't know. They just suddenly grabbed me from behind and stabbed me before I could do anything. They almost got me through the heart. It was so fast, I couldn't recognize anything about them...''
''So, that means the medic saved you?''
''Yep. They found me and bandaged me up well. I would say that they deserve their role, as they've been pretty good at their job so far in this game. Since I know you can be trusted, I'll tell you who they really are. Just be careful who else you tell...''
As Ezra's lips part and tell me the name of the one on our side that saved them from this predicament, I feel shocked that I found it out, but also glad that I can cross another suspect off the list. And with this information, from what I remember from before...
I might just know who's life they saved that day.
The others have crowded around by now, but nobody heard Ezra tell me who the medic is, so I know their secret is safe with us. They all ask if Ezra is okay, and it truly disgusts me to know that one of the people in this room is faking all their sadness.
For a moment, I lock eyes with the medic, but they look away quickly. They might think I suspect them... I understand that they have acted slightly suspicious, but I guess it's fine. We're all a bit strange here nowadays. Maybe the mastermind has been watching us all and trying to find the most chaotic group of people for their game...
While I sit by Ezra as they regain their strength, I can't help but wonder if I'll be next. However, these dark thoughts don't work their way into my brain well enough, as they are eradicated thanks to the loud noise of the speaker turning on.
