Time went off in the blink of an eye and it was already our wedding month December. Last-minute fixings, make-up checking, venue setting, decorations, food, and music were being done. During this time, I had spent a lot of time with Adrian, and I feel like he is not that bad unless he wants to show his monster side which I came to see a few times but every time it was not directed towards me but the one who has pissed him off.

Well, he never misbehaved or spoke harshly or has never been accosted by me. But has been a gentleman towards me. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson had done a good job in his training, even if we abhor each other he never pissed me off. During this time I came to know that if there won't any love there would be at least some respect between us.

My phone began vibrating on my desk where I was busy reading the contract with a hotel company we were getting into a deal. We would be constructing their hotel till interior designing. This was a good project; I wanted to take it as soon as possible, but I needed to be careful.

"Hello" I answered the call and brought the phone to my ear.

"It's me" Adrian's gruff yet velvety voice reached my ears and I felt butterflies in my stomach. What the hell Ava you are behaving like a teenage girl. There is no feeling between you two so quit behaving like this.

"Yeah I know I have your number saved"

"Did you go for cake tasting"

"Yeah, Nathan and I went yesterday" Nathan had been with me all the time for wedding preparations but he would be going to India just two days before my wedding. I had requested him to stay for a little more, but he was like no. So I stopped asking him anymore.

"Okay. Goodbye"

"Goodbye," I heard a beep and placed the phone on my desk once again reading the contract. This deal was fair and I would be finalizing it before my wedding date because I would have to take leave after my wedding. I called Emma telling her to schedule my meeting with the company the very next day if possible. It has been just three days till our wedding and I would be on leave the day after tomorrow.

I winded up for the day around seven in the evening, work has been too much because I was trying to do extra before the wedding. When I walked out the office was pretty empty, as workers end their day at five while the lights were being switched off. I stepped out of the elevator and reached outside the office where my driver was supposed to be. Indeed there was a car but it was not mine.

"Hey" The window slid down and Adrian peeked out his head. What was he doing here? I walked closer till I was merely feet away from him, snow was falling slowly, small snowflakes resting on top of everything.

"Hey! What are you doing here"

"Nothing much but came to pick you up" I heard the click of the door lock and pulled it open because it was getting a little cold out here. I rubbed my hands together and then took off my black leather gloves. These cold winds are bitch and even after living my whole life in NY, I wasn't used to it.

"Adrian you didn't have to do it"

"But I had to do it" What does he mean? He is a confusing personality. One minute you would think that you know him while the other time you would think he is a stranger whom you have met just now. He is confused and will confuse you too.

I stayed silent deciding not to reply to him now. He is being an asshole so let him be. I didn't ask him to come and pick me it was his own decision, if not being forced by Mr. Anderson. Well, not my problem. The ride to my house was short but filled with silence. In complete and utter silence both of us didn't try to initiate a conversation. I kept myself busy with my laptop while Adrian kept himself busy with the road. Shortly we reached home and Adrian didn't come in despite my persuasion.
