🌸 CHAPTER 34 🌸

The next whole week went uneventful other than my doctor appointment, where we could see our baby all healthy and perfect. Even my blood concentration was good according to tests. We were actually happy to know that everything was good for our baby.

Currently I was sitting in meeting room waiting for our guests who were late. I was planning to build a new hotel in Brooklyn and for that I had a meeting with architecture and construction company. I checked time and they were already ten minutes late. I hate slagging and they were testing my patience. Suddenly a knock erupted through the silence of room.

“Ava”
Emma came in. Her heels clicked loudly against the marble floor.

“They are not here?”

“No. they called and canceled the meeting for some emergency”

“wow”
I threw my hands in air in irritation. Why they have to do this can’t they be some responsible and quit this childish behavior.

“Emma call them and cancel whatever we had planned with them. Find any other company who is willing to work with us”

“you sure because we have been working with them for long”
I glared at her. She gulped looking at me. I am irritated, my hormones are everywhere and I want to lash out my anger. I hope Emma is not the one because I won’t be able to control myself.

“Fine”
And then she left the room. I too stood up and left the room going to my office. I sat on sofa with a huge sigh. My backache had started and it is quite difficult to cope up with. I rubbed the sore spot trying to soothe the pain. The backache is always there since but today it was worst. I took deep breaths as pain increased with every passing second. Suddenly a pain shoot through my stomach making me gasp.

I held tightly on to my stomach like doing this will prevent whatever was happening inside me. Tears spilled from my eyes because of pain and worry for baby. My vision was blurring and black spots were invading it. I knew I would faint really soon but before that I wanted to inform someone. Thankfully just then Emma entered room and gasped looking at me. Before slipping I heard her call my name.

I woke up from unconscious state and felt the world around me. The soft brush of warm air tickling my skin, the small buzz of some kind of machine, someone whispering and then a hand holding mine ending the whispering.

I tried to open my eyes which were heavy and different to peel open. I took a deep breath from my mouth and tried to open my eyes. As soon as my eyelids hit the eyebrows I was blinded by the white light making me shut my eyes once again.

The soft buzz of machine turned louder telling me it is definitely heart monitor. The hand holding mine left me and I heard the manly voice shouting for someone or something. I wanted the warmth back and a whimper escaped my lips.

"Ava are you okay"
Adrian placed a hand on my forehead leaning down. I could feel his hot breath on my skin. I once again tried to open my eyes now thankfully his head blocked the bright blinding light.

“Yeah I am fine”
I replied in a meek voice. My head was pounding heavily and my hand instantly grasped it tightly holding it.

“What happened”

“Nothing but is baby fine”
I knew something was not right with baby. It was some kind of voice shouting in the back of my head making my heart clench in pain.
