It had been 4 hours, sat in the library, skimming books for signs of where the angel's cup might be, and I wanted nothing more than to shut my eyes and go to sleep, but every time I did Damien would whack me with whatever book he was holding.

"stop lazing, unless you want to be under Jamie's power. My brother is not the kindest, I warn you."

He was wearing reading glasses, and that was funny. He looked geeky-cute, and I was sure Cat and Macy would die to see him like this - but they were probably asleep.

"I can't help it - human's need sleep, you know. I'm dying back here."

Damien slammed the book he was holding shut, and placed it back on the shelf. "have you found anything yet?"

"do you think I wouldn't of told you if I had?" I snapped at him, flipping over the page.

"how well do you remember what's happened with you and Jamie so far?" Damien asked.

"Why do you need to know that?" I asked him. "I assure you, nothing happened-"

"I didn't think anything did. No, I just don't know - well, no one's seen the devil's cup for century's. If Jamie has his hands on the devil's cup, maybe he knows something about the angel's cup?"

"I'd tell you, but I can't think right now. My head's no clear - I'm too tired."

"then you should rest," Damien shocked me by saying, "if you're that tired, you may miss something in the books. We don't want that, do we? Come back down here at 12."

I nodded, because I didn't have enough energy to argue, and went up to my room. I quickly changed into my nightgown and got into bed. I read the clock.

'3o'clock', it read. I sighed and snuggled down, shutting my eyes. I immediately fell asleep.

The next morning I went down to the library, and Damien was still there reading.

"good sleep?" he asked.

"YOU obviously didn't," I told him. His hair was ruffled, and he hadn't changed since last night. His hair stank. I didn't even think he'd left the library.

"vampires don't need to sleep," he told me. "we just do it for pleasure. I'd much rather be here." he turned the page and put the book down.

"are you ready to tell me what happened?"

"erm... well, the first time I met him was in the blossom hall. You saw everything that happened there. Then... when he came back. You carried me to the pond."

"when you through me in, I swam down and found a cave. He appeared then and told me he'd get me back using the secret passage of Everdeen and you'd never catch me... if I sang at his party."

"and, clearly, you took the deal." Damien told me.

"yeah," I blushed. "I did." I told him everything we'd talked about in the cavern, I told him everything up to the bar.

"he got out two cups..." I gasped. "Damien, that's it! He does have both cups! He gave me the cup with a devil on, and he had a cup with an angel!"

Damien nodded. "I thought as much. Obviously, we'll need the cup. But how can we get it? Jamie's slippery, Amelie. You know that. So how do we get the cup from him..?"

"we can trick him," I told him. "I don't think there IS any other way. I get the feeling he takes that cup with him everywhere."

"how do we get it from him then? I don't see any way of just telling him 'hand over the cup'. He's obviously not affected by your voice," Damien considered.

"we could... well, first we have to consider HOW he takes the cup with him everywhere," I told him.

"he'd have to keep them hidden in his clothes," Damien told me.

"his CLOTHES? How are we gonna get the cup's from him if they're in his clothes?"

"what are you talking about?"

I took a sharp intake of breath as I heard Jamie from the shadows.

"Amelie, I want you to tell me." I suddenly needed to tell him, and I was about to blurt it out when Damien said "we were talking about how Amelie's ancestor, Samuel, keeps all his valuables in his clothes. She was just telling me how someone wished to steal them," he lied.

I felt my throat practically ripped apart as I nodded.

"alright," Jamie nodded. "Amelie, may I see you?"

"you may of stole her, Jamie, but she's still my potential." Damien spat.

"oh, but I so wish to see her." Jamie held his hand out towards me, and I felt a burning desire to take it.

So I did. Jamie smiled at Damien. "she wants to come, see? Just let her be, brother."

Damien growled as Jamie led me out, and I followed obediently.

"it would pain my brother so much to see you with me," Jamie told me as he took me down hallways.

"and I want my brother to be in pain so much,"

"then he should see me with you," I told him before I could stop myself, and Jamie smiled. "so he should. But later, I need to talk to you first."

He led me into a large room, with a blue king sized bed and golden walls, a yellow cabinet and wardrobe, with all the rest of the room fitting the colour scheme.

"you see, Amelie," Jamie sat down facing away from the bed, and I sat opposite him. It was then I saw Damien under the bed, his finger held to his lips. I tried not to make any reaction.

"the second I saw you, you looked so good. Your skin so pale... so perfect. My brother sees you in, say, different ways."

Suddenly, he reached in to hug me, and I was shocked out of thinking for a moment. Then I looked down and saw, in the pocket of his jeans, the tip of an angel wing. I reached down, ever so slightly.

"even now, you look so... tasty." Jamie said, and I gasped as I felt a second of teeth on my neck, and then the skin on my neck broke and he was drinking my blood. I was growing weaker every second.

He made moaning sounds as he drank, and I used the energy I had left to slip the cup out of his pants. I saw Damien's hand sliver out from under the bed, and I placed the cup into it. His fingers closed around it before his hand went back under, and I saw blackness as I passed out.
