Damien was laid out on the coach, blond hair flowing, causally dressed and staring at me, evilly.

"Potentials, I have a surprise for you. To help me remember you better, I'll be dying your hair to suit you best."

Most of the potentials looked thrilled with the concept, but i really was fine with my chestnut colour.

"stand still, all of you, while we run the camera over you."

I then realised a camera pointing at Molly. She was smiling. Next to it was a guy controlling a computer.

Damian stared at the computer, saying "no, no, no, are yes! Green! Perfect,"

Molly smiled happily, as she was led into another room where I guessed they were going to die her hair.

2 was up next, and she was smiling even more than Molly. She clearly really wanted to be here.

"I know what will suit her - we don't even have to try." Damien winked at her. "fiery red would be perfect."

She smiled and nodded as she followed Molly into the other room.

It went on, and Cat got blue. Molly came back in as Cat left, and I had to admit green suited her.

She smirked at me as the camera turned to me. I didn't smile as everyone else had - I just frowned.

"6, smile." Damien growled.

"you only smile if you're happy, and I'm not happy," I growled.

"Just take the picture - she's always frowning anyway," Damien growled.

Everyone else giggled, and I scowled at him. He smiled.

Then he grinned. "that's perfect - pink with blue streaks. Suits her... well."

He turned to me. "yes, it actually does. Perfect. Thank you, Luke. That will be all."

He ushered me off into the other room, but I just growled the whole way.

In the room 5 was getting her hair done orange, which actually really suited her, but all the colours had. Even Cat's, who's sea coloured blue fitted perfect.

As 5 stood up, the hair stylist said "OK miss, don't be shy," in an Australian accent, and I went and sat down.

It took about half and hour before he said "done". Clearly it had taken longer because of the highlights, and because he'd taken extra care.

I had to admit - it was perfect. I'd always thought I was ugly - but now there was nothing wrong. As I went back into the room, Damien was staring at me in awe.

'Get away from me,' I said in my mind, because he was annoying me. Then he snapped out of it, and smiled.

"well done, 6. I was expecting more of a fight."

I glared at him, but couldn't say anything because he'd already said something else.

"OK, girls, I'd say well done but it really wasn't hard. You may go to your room now."

Everyone nodded, and headed back to their rooms. I followed, and we met the maid in the hallway.

"I've been told to give you a tour and show you the activities you can do, so let's go so you can get some rest ready to impress the prince tomorrow."

She led us down the hallway, and pointed at a door to the right. "this is the entertainment room, and this one," she pointed to the opposite door, "is the dining room. You will eat here when you're not eating with the prince. You're not allowed up into the prince's quarters without his permission. That's all,"

We all went back down the hallway to our rooms. I said bye to Cat, and went into my room.

"One last thing! 6, the master would like to see you at 8."

Everyone glared at me again, so I just said "probably to beat me senseless, as he told me he would before."

Molly nodded. "Probably. That's all your useful for - a human punchbag."

"shut up," I told her, and closed the door to my room and looked for some PJ's so I could have a nap first. All I could find was a slink nightgown - red, but hey, there was nothing else.

I slipped into it and lay in bed, and eventually fell asleep, to dream about me and John when he wasn't... what he was now.
