We continued to walk and found their rooms. "Geez. These are so big!" I said as I walked in and spun around. They all gave each other a questioning look. "They are about normal." Jake said back to me. "Really?" I stopped moving. "It's a little bigger than the average but yeah?" He looked concerned.
"I've never been to a hotel only to tiny motels and I've always had to sleep in the car." I answered. "Oh. Yeah. Then this huge" Colby laughed a little. I laughed too. "Okay so I'll sleep on the couch." I said placing my things on it. "No." They all said at the same time. "Wha- yeah. I'm not kicking y'all out of your beds." I laughed a bit.
"Yeah you are." Colby said. "You can bunk with either me and Colby or Jake and Corey." Sam said pointing to him and Colby while. Jake and Corey danced around and joked. "Oh, uh. I'll bunk with Jake and Corey." I said laughing at there dumb dances. They yelled and wrapped me into a hug. There was a door connecting the two rooms between the beds so we walked through them instead of walking out and walking back in.
"You can have my bed." Jake said while pulling his bag off of it. "You sure. I'm small and can comfortably fit onto the couch." I asked with a thankful look. "Yeah. It's not a problem." He said and he flopped onto the couch. "Okay." I whined a little but placed my things onto the bed. "Oh but you don't give him a hard time." Colby yelled through the wall. "She likes me better!" Jake yelled back.
"He hasn't offered to pay for everything I do!" I said through the wall. I heard Colby mutter whatever, and I rolled my eyes at him. "Okay. Now we need to talk." Corey whispered. Jake and Corey sat next to me and smiled. "What's up?" I asked and they shushed me. I was taken aback a little, but let them continue. "What's up between you and Colby?" Jake whispered.
"I know he's trying to help me. But I would be fine with a state appointed lawyer, or paying my hospital fees. I thank you guys for bringing me to your hotel and letting me sleep here. It's like he feels that I can't take care of myself. Like I've said before, I have saved a bunch of money for when I got away. I didn't want to spend all my money in a motel and worried that they would find me. So I camped out for a little until they gave up looking. Then I would have found a place." I explained in a low whispered.
"You are really smart. A lot smarter than me." Jake said normally laughing a bit. "I just don't want you all to think I'm using you. Because I'm not and I can afford to do things. Minus a lawyer." I said laughing. We were back to talking normal. Jake and Corey were really funny.
"Hey? Do you know how to use a camera?" Jake asked. I nodded, "I was the president of the photography club in my school." I said smiling. "Hold on before we record, what were you like in school?" Corey said sitting next to me putting his hands at the bottom of his chin like a little kid. Jake sat across from me on the other bed mimicking Corey.
"I was top of my class with a 4.2 GPA. I was soccer captain for 2 years and I was president of photography club. I was apart of the wrestling team as well." I explained. "Why didn't you use your wrestling skills against them?" Jake asked. "I learned quick that drug strength is no mach against me." I answered showing them a scar on my back.
"Oh my. What happened?" Corey asked tracing the lines on my back. "I tried to fight back but it just made him more aggressive. He pushed me against the metal railing and it broke under all the pressure. The metal impaled me and I happened to be allergic to it, so it left those scars." I said.
Sam and Colby walked into the room while they were staring at the scar. Sam came behind me and looked at it. "Yo! Colby look at this!" Jake said waving him on. "I've already seen them all." He said. They all looked confused. "I was in the room with her when he took the pictures." Colby added.
"Well you saw most of them. I wasn't really trying to get my privates pictured especially not in-front of two strangers." All of a sudden their disgust for my stepfather turned into rage. Colby and Jake clenched their jaws and Sam and Corey just looked at each other.
"Guys?" I asked the room turned tense and silent. "Hey?!" I said a little louder. The only person that looked at me was Colby. "Please calm down." I made eye contact with him. I hated this feeling. "Please." My voice cracked making me whisper the ending. "I wasn't like you know... I was hit with things..."
I was startled by Sam wrapping me into a tight hug. I closed my eyes and lifted my head in hopes of stopping my tears. But as the boys one by one wrapped me into a hug it got harder. I hadn't open my eyes but I felt the tears flow from my eyes. The guys walked out but I still hadn't opened my eyes.
I laid my back against the bed keeping my knees in the position they were in while I was sitting on the bed. After about a minute I opened my eyes and sat up to see Colby watching me. He got up and hugged me again. "Thank you" I whispered. We sat hugging for a while.
