"Bye Mr and Mrs. Brock! It was lovely meeting you guys." I said hugging them. "It was our pleasure!" They said happily. "It was nice meeting you Gage." I said hugging him. "It was nice meeting you too Nicole." He responded. "If you ever need to talk, I'm here." He said handing me a small piece of paper. "Thank you." I smiled at him shoving the paper into my pocket.

I put my bag into the car and sat into the car while the guys said goodbye. I went onto my phone and decided to text my old best friend. She moved to LAfor college.

N: Hey Cassie. I'm safe. I'm happy. I'm healthy. They are gone. She killed him and herself because I ran away/got kicked out. You know how it happened. Give me a call when you can. I love you. I miss you.

Cassie: OMG girl! I'm calling you later! I'm in class right now, but expect a call. I want to hear about everything. I miss you so much!
N: ofc.

"Ready to go to Wichita?" Sam asked making me jump and throw my phone. "Jeez you okay?" Jake asked. I nodded and snatched my phone off the floor. "What's wrong?" Corey asked. "Nothing. I'm just tired. Can I sleep?" I asked. They nodded and I leaned my head onto Corey's shoulder.

"What do you think her and Gage were doing?" Colby asked. "Gage said they just talked. And that is what they did. He wouldn't lie to you, brother." Sam said defending me. "But like you didn't see the hug." Colby said. "If it was anything like the hug goodbye then you have nothing to worry about." Jake said laughing a bit.

"Stop stressing man. She doesn't seem to be the hoe type." Corey said looking down at me; I kept my eyes shut. "I know-" Colby began to say something but Sam cut him off, "She's not an LA girl dude." Jake and Corey agreed. "She cares too much." Corey said. I was tired of listening so I took a deep breath and opened my eyes; I sat up slowly.

"Good morning sleepy head!" Jake yelled cutting Colby off from what he was beginning to say. "Morning." I groggily said looking around. "Where are we?" I asked. "About 5 minutes away." Sam said looking at the GPS then pack to the road. I nodded and leaned my head back smashing it into the head rest. I closed my eyes and sighed.

"You okay?" Jake whispered I just slightly nodded. "I'm exhausted, is all." I answered. "You sure?" He asked again. "I'll tell you later." I said looking at him he nodded and went back to talking to the guys. "Pull over!" I suddenly yelled. Sam pulled over to the side of the road and I pushed Corey out of the door so I could get out.

I ran to a tree and got sick. "Nicky?" Jake asked. I was pale and sweating. "Give us a moment." I said to the guys surrounding me. "I get really bad anxiety. Meeting all of y'all's parents kinda scares me. They are so sweet and I have nothing to worry about... but trauma I guess." I said laughing at the end. Jake chuckled a little and rubbed my back.

After about 5 minutes I was okay, still a little nauseous, and I could feel my heart beat pounding in my chest. But okay. "I'm sorry." I said walking up to the guys. "I told them." Jake said and I nodded. "Ready to go?" I asked. "In a moment." Sam said pulling me away.

"I have a question for you." He said staring at me. "Yes?" I questioned. "You technically don't have to answer... but I'm just making sure. Colby is my best friend, and if you are playing him, I don't think it's the best idea for you stay with us." He said seriously but still sweet. "I don't really know where you got the idea that I was a player... but I'm going to try not to be too offended. I like Colby a lot, he's important to me. Like more important than any guy has ever been." I frowned at Sam.

"I'm sorry." He whispered. "It's fine Sam. I get it. You're looking out for your best friend. I'm someone new. Honestly and whole heartedly I understand, but that doesn't make my feelings of hurt go away." I said walking away. The guys kinda looked at us confused since they could only hear that part of our conversation. I looked behind me and Sam hung his head low, "You coming or are we leaving without you?" I asked waving him on.

Sam walked to the car disappointed in himself. We got into the car in silence. We got to Jake's family home. "Mom!" Jake yelled as a woman passed us on roller skates. "Jake! Sam! Colby! Corey! And girl I've never met!" She yelled turning around and skating to us. "Hi! I'm Nicole a new friend of the guys." I responded with a fake smile.

"It's nice to meet you sweetie." She said wrapping me into a hug. "I don't want to pull you from your son. But can you show me the way to the restroom?" I asked as they all talked to his mom. "Of course sweetie." She said giving me a questioning look. "Come on in. Boys stay in the living room." She commanded.

"What's wrong?" She asked sweetly as she lead me through the house. "I- uh. I'm a little hurt by something that was said to me. I'll be fine." I said a tear rolled down my face. "Awe!" She whined hugging me. "Was it my son?!" She asked quickly. "No. It wasn't." I said not specifying who it was. "It was Sam wasn't it?" I looked at her confused. "He sometimes doesn't know how to word things. He also looked upset." She said rubbing my back. I nodded. "I understand what he was saying but like it doesn't make me feel any better." I said and she nodded in a way to tell me she understood completely.
