Lana wandered around aimlessly. Confused as to why it hurt so much to see him with her. She left him. She had no claim to him. Still, her heart was in pieces. As she wondered the streets, Lana cried out questions to herself.
"Why did he dance with me, if he was just going to go home to her!?"
"Why on earth did he even tell me he still loved me?" She sobbed out to no one. Sounding like a mad woman.
Lana needed a place to think. She knew Hogwarts wouldn't be safe. Of course, physically she would be safe there, but those stone walls held too many memories that she couldn't relive at the moment. Grimmauld Place was the only other place she had ever felt home. She apparated just a moment after considering it. Upon her arrival, Lana was confused by the lack of dust within the home. While Kreacher tried his best, the home was usually covered in a thin layer of dirt. As she made her way through the hall, she was startled to hear a mans laughter.
"Hello..?" she called out.
No more than ten seconds later a man popped his curly black head out from one of the rooms.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" he asked.
"I could ask you the same." she said sternly, prepared to kick out the squatter.
The dapperly dressed man was now right in front of Lana. Nose to nose.
"Why aren't you pretty?" he said, flashing her a smile. The man then slowly reached for Lana's hand.
Lana took this simple gesture as a threat, and before he could even touch her, her wand was to his throat.
"Ooh. Feisty." he said with a wink. "I like it."
"Who are you?" she asked again.
"Sirius Black, the owner of the house you just broke into my Dear."
Lana lowered her wand, utterly confused by what she was just told.
"And you are...?"
"Lana, Darcy. A friend of Dumbledore, I work at the school. I'm so sorry, I've stayed here before but I had no idea you'd be here-"
Sirius cut off her rambling by placing his finger over her lips.
"Oh Darling, you look exhausted, and if I'm to be honest, quite broken." he gestured toward the sofa, suggesting they have a seat to give Lana a moment to collect the pieces of her which had been broken apart. There was something comforting about his presence, so Lana accepted the offer. Before she could even take a seat, she felt tears start to stream down her face.
Sirius quickly sat next to her, and took her hands in his. She just sobbed quietly, taking her hands back and pulling her knees up to her chest. He let her get it all out, never taking his eyes off of her before he began asking questions.
"Alright. Who is he, Love?"
Lana exhaled through her nose at his comment. But he was being sincere, in his own way.
Lana explained to Sirius her whole situation. It was nice to have someone listen to her, in such an attentive manner. She couldn't tell why she trusted Sirius so much, and she didn't want to dissect it at the moment. He pulled her close to him, literally giving her a shoulder to cry on.
"You know, I have a bit of experience when it comes to this. I had to leave, and my lover didn't wait for me to come back. I know I shouldn't have expected them to, but it still tore me apart."
This was the first time Sirius has been, well, serious, since Lana had met him at least.
"She moved on?" Lana asked.
